We've got a Puma outlet here in Phoenix, and I just went there. Got a pair of brown suede driving shoes (forgot the model, but they're like future cats, but look more like dress shoes and no laces) for $60 after taxes. They had them for 50% off.
Driving back to the office, I could tell the difference immediately. Heel-toe is WAY easier now, and my heels felt cradled, not pinched by the back heel of the shoe.

I've used the Reebok driving shoe in the past and it was really comfortable on in the heel.
I currently have a set of tiger onitsuka's which I'm liking as well (very minimal sole so its very light) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk |

I have a pair and I can't stand driving in them (but love walking in them, like puffy clouds). The thick sole essentially gives zero feel on the accelerator, which is a pain on roll-outs from N->1. Either burn some extra clutch or luggin' the engine with insufficient throttle.
But to each his/her own...

Cole Haan Air Braeden in canvas. Not the best in heel padding, but the sole is nice, thin, and communicative. Too bad they haven't made them in like 5 years. I'm glad I bought 2 when I had the chance...and on sale for 50% off!

You have to wear thick (the nerdy looking ) socks with them, and it'll give enough cushion to get rid of that. I had that problem too. I only wear mine with jeans so you won't see the socks anyway if that bothers you.

I wear Red Wings because my job is really demanding and I need boots that are tough as nails. Not the best for driving. The same can be said for my Frye boots. My Clarks aren't so bad. If I had to pick a pair to drive in, it would come down to either my chucks or my vibrams.
