I'm in no rush. It's funny cause I told them it was on back order and they were like, "No it's not. It'll be here next week."

Here we are 3 weeks later and I called to check on it and they were like, "oh yeah, it's still not in. It's on back order."

They are seriously clueless about everything. I've never had to deal with the dealerships with any other car I've owned. I just wish the crickets would go away so I don't have to deal with the stupid idiots at the dealership anymore.

I started force-feeding corn to the crickets and I think they got bloated and died.

You betcha. It's gonna be a sad day when I take a road trip that has none on the way. Once you go E85, you realize this car had no balls at all before. Now I just need header/over/frontpipe...

To be fair to the tech, the new part # may have been news to him. Its all about when you get the information.

Funny side story, I took my car in for what I thought was damage to the differential:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...43#post1512343

But in the process, I mentioned that there was condensation in the tailights. To my surprise, the service rep KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!! I'm waiting for the new taillights to come in now.

Been posted multiple times, which is a huge help for those of us who don't have an E0 station anywhere near us (and no, marine gas does not count)

Engine idle chirping (cricket) noise poll.

What about the guys that are running e85 and have no chirp at all? After getting my pump changed I realized that the sound only came back after I reached 1/4 tank. Every time this happened I filled my tank as soon as I could and within a few miles of running the chirps went away. I think there something more to this than just ethanol content. Apparently in my case the amount of fuel in the tank plays a part in the niose returning

e85 has added lubricants because of the high ethanol content which in turn eliminate the chirping.

That's if you think fuel is the cause of the chirping.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41776

Fuel hasn't changed significantly in over a decade. It is a known design parameter and cannot be a 'cause'. The cause is in the design/manufacturing. Using abnormal fuels or additives is not a 'solution' it is a band aid.

Original pump, pre-green dot, haven't heard a peep in 10k miles. I would recommend leaving it alone if you can bear it.

Just noticed p.424 BRZ owner's manual. Use maximum 10% ethanol. No E15, no E50, no E85. If using blended fuel (E10 or lower I presumed) be sure it as an octane rating of at least 93 AKI.

I would not run all the time on E85 if I were you.
