the windage tray is in the upper oilpan of this car. so unless the pick up is modified, I don't think it is. you are good

We are welding a baffle plate to help keep oil close to the oil pick up. It would be possible to leave this out.

The oil pan is very close to OEM height, I will post a comparison tomorrow. To answer your question about 1/4" or less.

Just curious why you decided to go with that far from stock looking shape.
Ummmm....stupid/impolite question coming up. Is there any way for you to test for leakage before shipping or does the quality of your welds negate the need for this?

We moved to this shape to provide clearances for the OEM manifold, as requested by another forum member. We are pretty flexible, and will try to meet as many requests as we can.

We already have a fixture plate for testing leakage on all oil pans, I doubt this will be an issue. We commonly build our own tooling, we even built a small bender for one of the oil drains for this oil pan.

Does this mean that the capacity of the RacerX pan is reduced for oem headers compared to pans for aftermarket headers?

Were cooling fins a consideration?

I'm not usually concerned with aesthetics but (call me hypocritical) will a black coating be an option? (If not I wonder how many paint pens I will need?)

Capacity is 1 qt over the OEM pan, to get the clearance for the OEM header and increase the capacity was a bit of a challenge. The increase in oil capacity will help with keeping oil temps down more than cooling fins, especially when considering the clearance between the under tray.

The oil pan could be anodized, if we have enough interest it could be an option.

We are close to finishing up our oil pan, here are a few comparison shots next to the OEM pan. You can see the clearance between the OEM pan and the Racer X oil pan. We are wrapping up the baffle plate and will get a few shots of it in the pan.

Oil pan installed!! Pan fits perfect, we removed the heatshield from the OEM exhaust manifold the other option is to trim the back side of the heatshield. We will be building more pans in the coming weeks and get them listed on our website. If you guys have any questions or comments please let me know.

I wonder if this would fit my Avo Turbo Setup! I love your UCA and especially your welds.

For those that are interested we plan to offer a 25% discount to develop a list of headers/turbo kits that our oil pan will work with. There are so many combinations it makes it difficult to account for all them, so we are looking for some help from the community.
