Max boost is between 4300-4400 RPMs. I have .82 backhousing, .63 is more popular with this turbo and this car and that would hit full boost sooner.

IIRC the dyno showed 80 F temp.

The fit is TIGHT!

Well, the kit was designed with a 6266 in place, so I think it should fit a 35R

I'm also not a fan of all that intercooler piping and the turbo location. I like how they include lots of little machined pieces that are pretty, but you pay a pretty penny for them, and what that's worth to you is a personal decision lol.

Fbm kit is also high quality, very easy to tune, but has well-documented cooling issues. The fans the kit comes with are really cheap and insufficient, but they offer solutions to solve that problem. Their base kit is a pretty good deal if you stay with the gt2871r. Just budget some extra money for cooling shrouds and maybe some better fans.

MAP's new kit is also looking nice, but it's a journal-bearing (I think) oil cooled turbo and you have to hack up the crash structure to fit it.

KAB's kit is coming soon... Very nice but I'm not sure what the price will be.

We're definitely not short on good options at this point.

If revworks can get their kit out at the price they want to it'll be the value leader. Not the cheapest kit, but probably the best value for what you get.
Our base kit is journal. But you can upgrade to any Precision BB or run any Garret turbo on our kit as well.

I guess im stuck in the mindset of Supra owners read my name
I konw Scion FRS/Subaru BRZ doesnt comes with turbo and im buying a complete kit with turbo that will make roughly 250~300HP !! and yes i know i can always run less boost

If I could do it all over again I would be buying the JDL Designs kit. Looks like the placement on everything is well thought out, welds look great, lots of turbo options, etc.

FA20Club is probably the worst buying experience of my life, and the quality is junk. There are a couple fans on here who he has done right for, and they have had success, but I have a full PM box of people with similar stories to mine (see review forum) asking for lawyer and attorney general claim numbers so they can file as well.. I can assure you Toni will not be in business all that much longer.

I went with Full Blown. I wanted 350+ eventually, so I splurged and got their premium kit GTX28R turbo, full 3" exhaust, clutch, oil catch can, methanol injection, bigger fuel pump and injectors, oil cooler, all which, depending on the fuel used I think would be good for 350-plus WHP.

I've had problems with the fans and clearance, but we've worked through this, and I'm happy with the car, it should be finished this week.

I can say that I'm happy I went with Full Blown because their customer service has been awesome. They've worked with me through everything, and that speaks the loudest to me.

They responded to my messages and calls quickly, and took care of everything immediately, made me new parts and replaced parts THE SAME DAY I contacted them, overnighted stuff to me.

I know if I have issues that they'll be taken care of quickly, and with no hassle. I know of one other outfit that cannot do this, and I don't know if any other outfits can respond as quickly. I do know from experience that Full Blown is solid and has great customer service.

That's my 2 cents, I'd go with their premium FB kit, the V-band clamps makes going to a bigger turbo very easy, and I know the company stands behind their product and will see you through to the end.

PTuning has a different layout, P&L makes what looks like a nice kit, AVO looks to be a good kit but not for BIG power.

If you're going for more than 300whp, you'll need to look into the extras like clutch, radiator, oil cooler, fuel pump, injectors, etc.

That's a terrible idea. You're going to cheap out just to get your car boosted, then yank the turbo and upgrade it later. You're going to save like $500 on downgrading the turbo only to spend $500 to re-tune your car once you upgrade?? It doesn't make any sense. And on top of that, what if your upgraded turbo doesn't bolt in directly to where the "placeholder" turbo was?

Just wait until you have enough money to do it right the first time. Short term thinking will end up costing you more down the line.

Like the OP, I'm also in the game for a good 260-280whp on low boost, 94 octane, and stock internals. The kit that ticks all my boxes is the AVO kit. The placement is genius and literally OEM like the fa20dit. As well, the mechanical oil pump is quite clever avoiding having to run an electrical oil pump that could possibly fail. As others have stated, there isn't much head room with the avo kit. The turbo is rated only to 380hp maxed out. It's something like a td05 Mitsubishi turbo and pretty small. But it's perfect, IMO, if your goal is +/-300hp. Perfect for the stock motor too.
