Accord Air Intake
So my car was in an accident recently and my air intake was crushed. My friend has an air intake from an 01 Accord. He is giving it to me for free and I was wondering if i could place it into my BRZ if I change the tubing

No, the BRZ only shares an air intake with the 01 Civic. Sorry dude.

the tubing is what the intake is?? so you are gonna just make your own and use his filter??
Also stock airbox + drop in just as good

It depends on how much of the tubing you replace since you've got the Mass Air Flow sensor hooked up to the tubing behind the filter box. If your stock Mass Air Flow sensor is still intact it should be fine

I'd personally try finding a used intake/airbox as a replacement. Using non-OEM parts would require some fiddling around and may end up looking ghetto, or worse still fall apart whilst driving.
Post a WTB in the classifieds in here....many people changed to aftermarket intakes and maybe someone might sell their stock item for a decent price. Failing that, try looking at wreck yards or if you can wait, they're also easily available from jap auction sites. |

If you're getting your car repaired why not get the intake repaired as well?

80 - 20 = 60. Any price above $20 and below $80 benefits you both and you have $60 worth of room to negotiate. For example, a price of $50 benefits him by $30 (50 - 20 = 30) and you by $30 (80 - 50 = 30)! Isn't math fun?

Lol at all the BRZ owners. The 01 Accord intake fits the FR-S, but not the BRZ.
