Carbing Suction Pipe

Heres my Carbing suction pipe with no sound generator, i want to review it by saying it has increased throttle response. Im very impressed with the quality of it and amazed on how light it is. The installation was pretty straight forward and easy and glad it does not heat up. Over all I say I could have gained power at higher rpms with the ARC Induction box since it pulls harder. Here it is and hope yall like it. Thanks to 86worx.

No offense, but everyone ALWAYS says this about intake mods. It's been pretty well established that without tuning, the stock intake is more than efficient enough to avoid bottle-necking this engine. Other aftermarket intakes have been able to net single digit HP increases (some even needed a tune just to break even) and that's simple not something you can feel while driving. Nobody's butt dyno is that sensitive.

It certainly looks flashy though doesn't it.

That's because MOAR louder = MOAR power on the butt dyno.

I dont buy mods for looks, i get them for function and they live up to it. Looks is just a plus. They are rare parts to me and i say that because i come from a honda tuning scene where all i wanted was quality functional rare parts.

Where did you find the ARC box? Is it universal?...or meant for our cars?

ARC are notorious for making intakes that LOSE horsepower. Anything they make is for looks, not performance.

I purchased it through 86worx.com It is not universal and It was meant for the gt86/frs/brz platform. Their is a dyno sheet to it making power, dont listen to these other people on this forum. This is a link to an evo making power with Arc Air Box http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-dyn...rc-airbox.html

It does make Power, for those that dont know Read and own before you post

So it looks like it pulls in air from under the hood? And do you have a link to a dyno for this actual vehicle platform, and not a completely different highly modified car? I can't seem to find a dyno for this particular intake. I'd like to the the AFR logs also. Any links handy? Thanks.

This is Arc dyno test at stock form. I would confirm that it does make power as it shows on their sheet as I happen to own one an arc box.

2 tq and 4hp. Pretty sure my $40 drop in air filter tops that... But it isn't rare or pretty

Hmm, this is the only dyno graph I've seen, and it's off of their sales ad. Can't find an independent test for this intake. Any pictures of the inside? Does it have any type of velocity stack leading the the MAF sensor? Or is it a sharp edge from the air box to the tubing? I can find pictures of this either. I would have to guess it just leaning out the AFR to make that 5HP or so it shows. It sure is purty though.

sorry zookie no pictures of the inside, I had no idea people would want photos of the inside. If I ever take it off I will take photos probably only when I replace the ARC filter.

Ok, ok. I do believe you. It does make power, on a dyno, with the hood open, and a fan blowing straight at it
