I think there would be a high level of liability if someone rented out a stall with a hoist by the hour to amateur wrenchers. Too bad. I myself could do much more stuff if I had access to a hoist. Even better if it was a hoist plus tools for maybe $25/ hr or something.

Best part about this, getting to help work on a car without having to pay for more parts

I wonder if setting up a private club with a membership requirement would work to get around some of the liability issues. Anybody ever try that? Would there be enough interest to keep it going?

Speaking for myself, I live in a condo and I'm trying to find someplace to work on the car that won't annoy the other folks in the garage.

I used to be a member of a private shop similar to what you proposed:

http://www.turbo240sx.ca/facility.php

So its doable. It was just too far and I was out of the country too much so I stopped. But I would be interested if another opened up a little closer to gta.

That's exactly the kind of thing I want to find, ideally in the west end of Toronto or Mississauga.

Man this winter is making things so much worse. Can't wait for it to warm up so I can re-apply my front lip...too cold for double sided tape to properly seal.
