why does it seem impossible to build a pd supercharger for this car that makes decent power? 232/208 (if accurate) isn't even worth the shipping cost from japan, let alone the money and effort of installing the damn thing. people will be making that n/a on e85 by summer, only it won't fall flat on it's face above 6k like that power curve would suggest this does.

i just don't get it. it's not like a bigger blower wouldn't fit. if you're gonna go through the trouble, at least do it right.

I saw 1.5 million yen in there and that converts to about 15 grand . Sounds about right for a Tom's sc lol

Mind you that's on Japanese gas which is quite a bit higher octane than even our 93, let alone 91 in CA. So it's pretty comparable to what we already have here when you figure that. The current units have even flatter torque curves compared to this.

As for PD, based on the Innovate threads it seems there's two considerations. Getting a big enough unit that can fit under the hood and flow enough air, and having a strong enough bottom end to handle the more instant boost of a PD. It seems the weak link is the stock con rods. Now if you build up the bottom end and use the bigger charger Innovate is developing, then you can get bigger numbers.

there are a lot of turbo cars making a lot more torque at the same rpm, but yeah i see where they're going with that. it would just be so nice if someone could build a pd supercharger that made a significant power increase, at least 300whp. i know it's possible because it's been done so many times before. that would be a fun car to drive!

Not at or below 2.5-3K that I've seen.

ill take a little torque hit below where i'm ever at while moving for an extra 100 or so whp worth of overhead and more torque everywhere else....

but anyway yeah, different strokes.

He got you there. 3000 RPM seems to be the spot where the turbos are making at least as much boost and start to pull away.

I do not see torque below 2,500 RPM (or even 3,000) rpm to be an issue. Around town, that is just moving away from stops and rolling around RPM's. If you are on the highway, downshift. This is not a 5+ litre V8 after all.

Saw this was released forsale. Looks like a well put together kit and seems to come with a new remapped ECU... However minimal gains and $8K.
