Tom's SC (from Tokyo Auto Salon)

Saw this posted in the TAS thread and didn't recognize it... I don't think this is a production kit or anything, but what kind of supercharger is this?

Twinscrew...

Dont like that they reuse the stock intake pipe....

Calum 01-16-2014 09:45 PM

Interesting. I'd like to read more about this.

Haha yeah I saw that and kind of laughed. I guess they figured it fit the spot so why not.

Looks like they have made similar kits for older Lexus//Toyota engines. Super expensive, like $15K...

The sales point however is the TOM’s supercharger kit the car comes with, boosting power to 232 PS and 28.4 kgf/m (206lb/ft). It might not be a big hike, but it should definitely make for a more fun drive.

Is that a clutched sc pulley??

JoeBoxer 01-17-2014 12:47 AM

Interesting pulley setup but the intake pipe surely is temporary that can't be the production version. I like the supercharger/manifold though.

ogura supercharger with clutched pulley :)

Same manufacturer as the original 4agze, 1ggze etc chargers.

you would hope they are using the TX20 and not SC12 (TX12) or SC14(TX15)...
Actually, do away with the clutched roots style setup SC all together. We are not in the 80s anymore.

The article above says 232/208, which would be similar to the Innovate kit. I expect it to be way more expensive though.

sw20kosh 01-17-2014 02:54 PM

Surprised no one has said it yet... Looks very OEM. =)

xwd 01-17-2014 06:08 PM

It does. It looks very similar to the Gazoo racing twin-charge setup from way back when. Gazoo even re-used the stock intake in the same way...
