Elitism maybe, but that appears to be the purpose of this car is it not? Why would one buy this car over a Mustang?
Comfort? Certainly not.
Power? Hardly.
Looks? Nope.
Value? I think otherwise.
Patriotism? Not a chance.
Even fuel economy is better in the mustang.

To me, the only conceivable reason for buying these cars is the purist ideology. On paper this car is murdered by everything, in performance and as a daily driver. The purity of the drive is the only take away of this car, and the only on I need. So for me the manual is the obvious choice. Of course this is all in my own opinion and we likely will have to agree to disagree in the end.

But that is how I think of the matter. I am sorry if you do not like it.
After a few track days I view the car with reverse elitism. Experiencing the rush of outbraking, outhandling and passing other cars costing 2X-3X more could do to you, too.

UPDATE: John Hanson, National Manager, Environmental, Quality, and Safety Communications for Lexus, has confirmed to Autoblog that no Lexus models are affected by this seat fabric issue. We have not yet heard back from Scion, but we'll update this post as soon as we do. Scion has confirmed to Autoblog that its vehicles will not be subject to the stop sale or seat material investigation.

Talked to my dealer today.
Raven M/T
Built - 16 Jan 2014
Allocated - 4 Feb 2014
Delivery to port - 12 Feb 2014

I asked for a VIN and he told me they gave them an interim VIN and that it will change when it gets to the port. I asked him what that meant and he didn't know. Does anyone out there know?

Will be hearing back from my dealer in 15 or so mins to see if they can get it... I have a feeling they won't. I hope it's just their location sucking and not simply long island not getting enough
why does leaving a deposit have to be so difficult, can't they shut up and take my money already lol

So I see that some people are getting an extended warranty, what is the general consensus on this? Does the extra cost justify the additional coverage to you guys? I feel like this car will be pretty reliable in the long run, but I also get worried since this car is so new.

Anyone from NY having luck!?! Guy just told me he'll do a special request type order (I have no idea how this stuff works) and that he'd have the car in 2-3 months... Wut. This can't be right. -_- By than the 2015 models will roll out... Altho knowing how scion works the 15 will lack something the Monogram has

the 2014's came out in September/October. I suspect the 2015s will be around the same time, not April/May.

On a side note, not sure if it was mentioned already but the Scion Canada pricing is up on their fact sheets. 28,840 for MT, and 30,020 for AT (non-Whiteouts), add 255 for whiteout. And these prices do not include delivery.

Wow, you got info fast! I ordered Jan 13th in Ontario, Canada and still no VIN or ETA.

Dealer did say it should show in the pipeline by the end of the week, so maybe info will be coming soon!

I don't think the dealer can put in an order until they have pricing, which was last week. You could have only put in a deposit on the 13th to hold your spot. Have you gone back to sign a new contract?

Can always check with the dealership in Canada and see if model numbers are in their system to order:

Manual is ZNAA4M (Might have to add code AA for Red/Black, AB for Whiteout)
Automatic is ZNAA4T(Same as above)
