Keep the suspension stock?
In on a budget right now and have been deciding lately if I should just keep my suspension stock. I was going to go with bc extreme low coilovers but instead for the same price I can get an invidia n1 catback exhaust and toms tail lights. I have 17x9 +42 rota grids (no tires yet) im not sure how its going to look but I also live in New York and I feel like coilovers would just be a waste of my money. Maybe springs in the future. Is anyone keeping there suspension stock. Does anyone have 17x9 rims on stock suspension? You guys think im making the right choice?
Just trying to save myself money but to me the wheel gap isnt too bad in person. Im sure a lot disagree haha |

well if you want it to look lower, lower it. if you dont, dont. the car handles rather remarkably right out of the gate and i would be hesitant to change that. if you dont value that then just get it as low as you want it.

Absolutely nothing wrong with keeping it stock. The engineers spent a lot of man hours and resources designing and tuning the suspension to have a healthy balance of performance, comfort, practicality, etc. Let's also not forget that you did pay for the suspension in the price of the car.
Yes, coils are usually gone to waste on non-performance-intended vehicles... unless you require frequent adjusting of your suspension setup, they are mostly for show and bragging rights, but are nonetheless a better choice than lowering springs. Personally, I would not be able to endure the struggles of driving a "slammed" car (not sure how much you plan to drop it, though). I like to drive fast and not in fear of every road obstacle that I might encounter. The money is better spent replacing other more unbearable parts, such as the fat OEM muffler with those dinky tips.

I really like the stock suspension, I would just add some camber adjustments and a more favorable alignment.

I have 17x9 rota grids and I had them only on stock suspension for a month before I got tired of looking at the gap. I got full coils now and I'm happy I did. If you don't want the track capabilities and just want the clean lowered look springs will be fine. Coils offers so much more options to your driving setup.

With those rims I'd definitely lower it but you know you don't have to buy coilovers, springs are very cheap.
