A bit of a stretch...Crossfit is different but not "much" different. You only see an aerobic component as the only commonality? Wow. Because I see strength training as another commonality as well. What about anaerobic conditioning? What about interval training? What about periodization? Because I see all of those in common as well.

I don't train. But I do exercise. I am a former elite soccer player and have tried all forms of exercise. Plus I have been involved in training athletes and being trained by certified strength and conditioning specialists. So, I try to mix it up each day I exercise from what I have applied and been involved in.

I guess bodybuilding is the same too. They do strength training, aerobic(cardio), HIIT , bla bla. I mean these are things many programs encompass, but I wouldn't say they are similar.

Periodization is common among just about any form of training.

I don't consider strength a fundamental component of insanity, or p90x at all. Sure by definition there is some "strength training" involved, but it is very limited in it's potential for actual strength development.

I also think the entire target audience, and purpose for p90x/insantiy is completely different than that of a true Crossfit box.

I mean it is kind of like saying taking a Boxing class at La Fitness is similar to training at a boxing gym to fight..

Thats because the internet is full of bullshitters and "experts", that have no idea wtf they are talking about.

I think he wanted to just see a video to see it, not to have you prove you can do it. Not many people can pull that so its impressive. BUT, you had to take it like he was asking for proof that you could do it.

I know I was curious and wanted to see, don't see what the big deal is about posting a video up but I guess you are too good to do so

I would if he spouted off some numbers like you did..lol

I think actually training is important. It gives a better understanding of what a person is dealing with, and goes through. That is why I like Donnie Thompson. He is a man who walked the walk, and is also a PT. There is a certain amount of knowledge you can only gain through experience.

Bingo. I just like seeing shit like that. And that is why I didn't press the issue when you declined. If I gave a shit, I would have called you a bullshitter. If I wanted to call you out, I would have..hah

Sounds like you got it figured out man. Why are you asking me?

Are you testing my knowledge in the fitness arena? Because it sounds like the only difference that I see is specificity between the methods of training. I am not going to prepare an offensive lineman returning from ACL surgery using a model to return a wide receiver back to the game. So, it all comes down to specificity.

The results from P90x seems like the people I know have been involved in quite a bit of strength training. Don't know much about your last comparison. So that was ineffective in supporting your rebuttal.

I think I'll have to agree with you on that one...

[ame]http://youtu.be/Y5ijnRGiIhM[/ame]

at 1:50 this is 585.. I haven't uploaded 600lbs. The shot didn't come out very well.

I bench 440 as well. I'll upload it tonight if you'd like so you can sleep better.

What else do I need to prove? Credit scores and bank account's net worth?

What I am trying to figure out is your actual role in a persons training. You say you will answer questions, but don't really delve into what your expertise is. I know you are a PT and "athletic trainer" both of those suggest more prehab/rehab orientated stuff, than programming, nutrition, etc.

I mean if I wanted to ask about rehabbing my knee I would consult a PT. If I wanted to ask about dieting for a bodybuilding show, I would consult a prep coach, etc....

I am just curious where you are coming from. Are you a PT who also powerlifted? Are you a PT who has never done anything sport related? Well you answered that, so thanks.

And just to be clear, I have a ton of respect for PT's. I think a GOOD PT is a great tool for any athlete to have in their arsenal. My questioning was more towards clearing up what sort of stuff would be best to ask you.
