Very nice! Thank you for responding so quickly @jpit @Robftss @fenton

I kind of understood what Mr. Anonymous was getting at but this definitely clears things up - in fact it only further confirms how great your kit is.

We use the best cheapest batteries and they are more than enough to stand up to extreme street use.

I have bagged my car extensively and rarely have to wait for full charge.

I did run it out when I had smaller batteries after doing 10 to 15 pulls against a BMW 135i from 40k to 200k. After that 30 minutes I had to wait about 5 for it to get back full.

On the street you just can't fully use the batteries up....believe I have tried.

Typical you have about a minute and half of full boost..... Just remember it only takes about 20 something seconds to get from 0 to over 120mph

So what happens if your WOT and the batteries die or short out?

If you short out or something comes disconnected you will be down about 15hp at redline. That is until you swap the stock intake back in..... This process takes about 1 minute and you are back to stock.

What would the logs look like? Would AFR's go super lean? Would there be knock or anything?

Has there even been logs of what happens when they short?

Just curious.

No one has had the batteries short on them. In fact it's rather hard to break batteries the way they are utilized in the phantom esc.

Well they never have shorted or failed for me but I have ran with the system disarmed and it runs just as it would stock.

It doesn't make quite as much hp but the afrs are just as they would be stock.

Good questions as well thanks

A 'Short' implies a failure, like a SC belt snapping?

The battery won't die, there are fail-safes. You would need to be on a roadcourse or the salt flats for the system to de-rate itself.

This is a good point to make. There are more potential for failure with belt-driven SCs. Even more so when they share the same belt as the rest of the accessories.

doesn't really answer the question. Also that's nowhere near the same thing happening. And belt failures are really really really really really rare.

The answer to your question is that if your supercharger happened to lose power you would simply be running the car as if it were disarmed.

You would have slightly less hp than a standard NA car between 4500 and 7500 rpm....about 10hp.

And battery shorts are really really really really really really really rare. I am a rc airplane and car enthusiast and in over 20 years of using nicd, lipo, nickel metal hydride, or lead based batteries I have not had a battery short or explode on me. And I have made my own batteries as well; which increases the chances of something going poorly.

Now I have had batteries "die" on me due to age and excessive charging (mostly my lithium based batteries) and you probably experienced this with your cell phones.

Shorts in batteries only occur when the user royally f's up. You need to try to make this happen.

But as for performance.... shut off the esc and drive around and congrats that's how the car would act. I.e- a little less power.
