Mind you I am not trying to say this is bad... But if you take a good look at the photos and multiple angles the collector on both headers looks about the width of the flange and everything else. They however are manufactured differently, and borla did have a pretty poor collector early on (I have NO idea how it is now).

Basically it looks like a borla with an o2 extension, no flexes, and welded bends instead of pre-bent pipes and a nicer finish for a few bucks less. (If you have an OFT)
With their off the website stage 2 tune this header performs well. Minus a few hp its comparable to some much higher priced headers. It has some similarities to the Borla but it is not the same. If their have been other headers in the mrkt other than Borla that peform why would Vishnu choose the worst of em (Borla) to model?

This looks like one quality/slick piece. A note about the flex joints, I come from the Jeep world where cracked headers are half expected, within 25k sometimes if they are aftermarket without flex joints. With that said, the header for the boxer should not need them because of the shape of the block and the way that it would expand, and the fact that it is an AL block as opposed to cast iron. The inline 6 needs the joints because it is cast iron with a long block and significant stretching around the exhaust. If you look at all of the headers with flex joints for them, they isolate the first and last exhaust holes. Basically, this is a lot of rambling saying that this platform should have no need for flex joints, especially since you can't get them where the metal deformation would be the most prevalent.

Aren't the O2 sensors similarly positioned and angled to the factory manifold positions and angels? This would make sense if one were setting up a jig to match all bolt on points during fabrication...

I've looked at a few UEL headers for our car - they all look similar to me, but to say the OFH is a copy of the Borla I don't see it. If it were a copy the collector and flex joints (or lack of) and bends would be identical - not similar.

there are only so many ways to package a header. it is what it is. really, who cares even if it is 'copied'? if it's higher quality (which it very obviously is) and can be had cheaper, i'm ok with that. remember... first better or cheaper... even if they only nailed two, that's an accomplishment and good for the community as a whole.

Agreed @jamesm --

I'd go so far as to add that headers always look like headers, and a trained eye can see significant difference between these bends and Borla bends. From tiny forum shots, I can definitely understand where people see some similarity, but I see the "copy" claim as pretty ridiculous.

But even if they were a copy (which they clearly aren't) I'd have still bought them. Can't wait to receive these!

I just found out that I can claim my fuel expense for work, so now I am thinking OFT + OFH for a decent gain

I wouldn't even say that the OFH scarifies even 1 hp compared to much more expensive competition.

Hi guys,
Quick update. Second batch should be hear by the end of of the week. And another one to follow a week or two after that. And the next one after that will be big (50 units). We it shouldn't be too long until we are caught up with all pending and new orders

Oh, and OFT/OFT and Phantom SC dyno results here:

Wow, that dyno looks great. Do you have any opinions on the ESC recharge time?

It has not been an issue on the street. And I've been driving it as hard as I possibly can. On a road course perhaps it will be an issue without a secondary dump pack (batteries).

^Wait...that's with 91 Oct. Fuel? That means you're near the 250 bhp mark with 91 Oct, not to mention the huge linear increase in torque. Nice increase for ~$2800 total.

Shiv, are you working on a E85 tune for the Phantom ESC, is it done, and if so do you have dyno results for it? Guessing you could squeeze another 10+ whp with E85.
