You can never go wrong with any motorcycle. Get what you like. To me a real rider respects all other riders regardless of what they ride. I dont get Hell i've thought about getting a little Honda Ruckus just for simple rides lol.

Has anyone seen this program on Tv where this comedian guy wrecked his Ducati 1098 but his buddy who happened to be some custom motorcycle builder creates his wrecked bike into a wicked 1098 cafe racer? Here's a link to check it out http://bikerscafeblog.com/2011/12/12...98-cafe-racer/

I'm actually in the process of turning my uncle's 1979 yamaha triple. It's going pretty darn slow though lol

But not everyone drives like a dumbass. We just gotta be alert at 200%. Invest in quality gear and practice. I'm looking to get some knee protection and better gloves and possibly some shoes/boots.

Riding motorcycles isn't for everyone. I'm not calling you a weenie or anything like that.
Its better to ride when you feel ready to and be at a relaxed state of mind rather than being scared and nervous, that already spells an accident waiting to happen.
I did my research, never tried to be a squid. I priced out a used Ninja 250, enough gear to do ATGATT including a badass spine protector, boots, leathers, race gloves, and a top of the line Bell helmet. The gear costs more than a starter bike and insurance combined. I still want to do it at some point, especially before I get older. I just now that time isn't right now. When I can afford a bike and ATGATT and have the time I'll definitely do it...

But that fear of other people doesn't leave me. A single lapse in judgment or attention and BOOM. In my hometown, driving down the main thoroughfare in my WRX nearly gets me killed at least several times; can't imagine what it's like on a motorcycle.

Need some recommendations..

Where do you guys recommend to shop online for motorcycle apparel? Helmets, jackets, parts and possibly other stuff?

I don't ride at all since I'm too short but you guys seem to have quite a plethora of information that I find really useful.

I would go with cyclesector. Diego is a great guy and he will hook you up. If you live close to San Diego, you can visit his store and try on what you live. Ask him to hook you up.
If you don't want to pay the tax, go with 303cycle.com (Call them, they will give you a deal) or sportbiketrackgear.com (Chat with guy at STG about sizing and what you need, and they will hook you up).

Oooo. Awesome. Thanks Dark!
I was also looking for online stores too. I googled but without actually having good input from members who regularly look at these sites--I may be going to the short end of the stores. Lol

Anyone else know some more places?

I've never understood that ideology but I've heard that a lot. That's like saying, "If I bought a semi automatic, I'll probably end up shooting someone!"

Riding any motorcycle is dangerous and everyone is always responsible for their own actions but saying one type of motorcycle will kill you;that just doesn't sound right.

That's funny, I know Diego and been to his shop down here in SD off Miramar.

I've tried to give the local guys as much benefit of the doubt (Cycle Sector, Solo, Cycle Gear, Bike Bandit) but those prices from out of state shops is just too good to pass up. Speaking of which, I just bought a set of Dunlop Q2 120/70 & 190/55 bundle from SBTG this morning since I'm going to Willow Spring at the end of the month.

I like Sportbike Track Gear and their philosophy of "if we don't use it we don't sell it".

STG always got killer deal on closeout stuff that you can't find anywhere else, but I always get stuff from Diego because he sells regular stuff much lower than other and I'm not in CA. LOL

If I could find an RS Taichi jacket in the right size on closeout, I'd buy a bike tomorrow.

I would call to guys at 303cycle and tell them to hook me up on RS Taichi gears. 303 was the only store that had balls to sell me RS Taichi gear at discounted price. I got WRX gloves for $125(retail 160) and RSJ826 for $400(retail 450). I asked them about GMX motion, they told me that would be close to $500.

Those prices aren't bad, I'll remember that for when I do actually get on a bike. RJ826...is that the white perf jacket?
