I'm on 245/35/18 on 18X9.5. Been that way for almost a year now. Not a single issue, love the grip now with -2 camber up front, -1.5 in rear. Tires are Continental DW's.

Two important questions that haven't been addressed:
Are you running coilovers?
How far do you plan on lowering?

If you are running coils then you most likely have nothing to worry about with inner clearance. If you're using stock suspension or lowering springs it's a bit risky running a 9.5 rim up front. I definitely wouldn't go above a 245 on stock suspension. And the drop matters as well, a moderate 1"-1.5" drop will have less clearance/rubbing issues than 2"+ drops.

If you're not interested in rolling back the front fender tab by the side markers or shaving back the rear bumper tab I probably wouldn't run anything larger than a 245.

Edit: I see you're on KW V3's so scratch the first question

thought i would give you guys some feed back. I have been working on cars for 20 years and racing for the last ten. We built our car for the track and knowing we would be running around 400 WHP+. So we tested to see how big we could go before rubbing to the point we could not DD the car. the rear is not the problem as we could fit a 295/35/18 on the stock suspension. The front however is here it gets tight, without coilovers our SA15 (18x9.5 with a 48 off) had a touch of rub on the stock struts. once we added the Eibach R2's we had the clearance need. After testing tires, we fond the 48 offset was to much and installed 6mm spacers. this allowed use to have lock to lock and no rubbing. once our springs settled (dropped about .5") we started getting a touch of rub at lock to lock but not enough to stop us from rubbing.

Our Setup:
Eibach R2's
Wedssports SA15 18x9.5 48 offset, Front adjusted with a 6mm spacer
Hankook R3, they fit flush which helps provent the rubbing.
lowered to rear arms level (ground to center of fender 26")

Alignment specs: front and rear
1.5 degrees camber
1/8 toe out

every tire has a slight different shape it take finding the one you want and making it fit. if you want a low car, wide is not your friend and if you want power narrow is not your friend. we have done a second car on both 265 and 275. he had a set of Works with a 40 offset. with the 265, he had no problems but when he switched to the 275's he started rubbing. part of that is due to the tire BFG G-Spports which bubble out a bit. after setting him at 2.5 degrees camber he only has a touch of rub on the inner front wells.

for the OP i would worry about how the tire fits the rim. If you like the look then run them and enjoy. if you push your car at all stay away from a starched tire.

Ok so just to be clear, the lower the offset number, the further outward they poke right? So +40 would be further away from the spring perch then +45

Thanks for your descriptive story that helps a lot to understand based on your experience for sure. My wheels will be 18x9.5 (40) offset I have kwv3 coils and Vorshlagg plates up front and stance LCA in rear so making accurate camber adjustment is of no issue. By reading what you've wrote it's comforting to know 245 and even 255 is not an issue. I realize to some my questions on this are overkill but better to spend money once and ask the silly questions?

Yes, with a 245 or a 255 you will be safe. @DesertFrs has the same size and he has ran a 265 and a 275 also. but with the 275 we had to adjust his camber in the rear. I am away from my desk or I would give you the info to look t which we used to select the size

OICU812 - you'll like the 245s. The wider you go, the more steering feel you lose and, at 200hp, 265s seem unjustified.
i have 18x9.5 +34 offset rims... im getting coilovers to just get rid of wheel gap for the most part, but im looking for a tire size to put on them that wont cause problems..i am also looking to get michelin pilot super sport tires

First of sorry for the necro this thread, but it's better than to make a new one with almost the same topic..

So for my question I'm going to order a custom set of Work Meisters S1 3P
Front: 18x9.0 +43
Rear: 18x9.0 +30

Both will be wrapped in 245/35R18 Dunlup SportMaxx R/T tires.

I'm lowered on TRD Adjustable spring set (the JDM yellow one), and will install Stance V1 LCA in the rear with a camber of -1,5.

So far I understand that it wont be any issues in the back, but what about the front, any rubbing ect? (I have used the frs project calc, but that does not show clerance for springs ect)
