Pic Request: MPSS 245/35/18 on 18x9.5" wide wheel
 

As title states looking for some side on, angled pics of a Michelin Pilot Super Sports tire in 245/35/18 on a 18"x9.5" wide wheel. (Any brand just 9.5" wide)

I've looked around hrs several times to get an idea visually how much stretch this "looks" like with the MPSS tire and no luck. I know these specific tires run larger then most so I'm very curious to see, perhaps it doesent appear stretched being their nature? I don't know....

If you could share some close up side and angles shots with this combo if be gratefull indeed!! Many thanks ! :D

Even with a MPSS, dont put anything narrower than a 265 on a 9.5. If you want to run a 245 get a 8.5 wheel

Curious why you say that? I'm asking not cause I want stretched look and I have seen a MPSS 255/35/18 on a 9.5" and I can't see why anyone would go larger at all to be honest as it looked meaty and fed right to edge square? I'm asking to see a 245 as a safety measurement for "clearance" and of course the look in general. Not a stance or hellaflush setup at all btw just wanting to make right decision is all. Thanks.

Per TireRack and, by proxy, Michelin, the 245/35/18 should be used on a 8" to 9.5" wide wheel. Section width is 9.8". This tire on a 9.5" wide wheel is just about perfect.

I went with 265's... don't see why not?

Check weight difference between 265 vs 245.

A reason to avoid 265/35 MPSS is it can have clearance issues with front suspension arms/firewall at full lock based on what I've queried from people with experience fitting tires on 9.5" wide wheels. It'll likely need front/rear fender rolls, e-brake shield trim, and rear bumper tab shave (all of which some prefer not to do). @DAMotorsports fit 275/35R18 and @ft86speedfactory fit 265/35R18 (both Hankook R-S3) yet I've read of a person rubbing with 255/35R18 MPSS on this forum. Offset (which seems to have an allowable margin of +40 to +43) and suspension settings play into finding that sweet spot of fitment.

The OP seems to have done his research and ruled out 255 and 265 MPSS.

Exactly only 255/35/18 I'm seeing right now that is a regular fit would be the Conti DW which that may be fine again not 100%. I realize as switchlanez has said some folks have ran or do run larger. But I'm not wanting to play the risk & fuss game and also want to stay at -2 or less camber up front.

That to me is a lot of weight. Wheels I'll be putting tires on are 17.4 lbs so I'd like the auw to be as low as possible even though their a street tire. By going this width it's just part of decision for me I suppose width is one thing but adding extra unnecessary mass on top of it is another to each has their own goals is all.

Funny when a simple request turns into a thread in which the OP has to justify everything they're doing / asking for...

OICU812 - you'll like the 245s. The wider you go, the more steering feel you lose and, at 200hp, 265s seem unjustified.
