17x9 35mm (if you ever plan on doing a BBK in the future) is the best size, imo.

I'm going to try and make it to CWSCC, FVSCC, and WAI events. WAI events are only at Miller Park, FYI. My first year, I ran all season tires and stock wheels (17x7.5) in class C Stock. My goal was just to learn the car, improve my driving skills, and having fun. I'm not sure where you live but I believe CWSCC will have an autocross school in Shawano. It will be on a go-kart track. Fun track!

knipple has nailed it.
Run the car as it is (maybe take off the two parts he mentioned) and just got out there and have fun. Listen to the veterans out there and learn as much as you can. Don't worry about winning or being competitive. Just go and learn. Definitely don't worry about adding more parts. - Andy |

I agree, go to the events, get familiar with how they operate, run the car and have fun as it is. Get someone experienced to ride with you for some tips, it speeds up the learning curve. Talk to drivers with similar cars for tips and ideas. Start slow, dont try to win on your first 2 or three runs, work on being smooth and finding the limits of traction. Work on looking ahead on the course and planning your line. I think you will find that the driver has much to learn through experience to overcome the cars current capabilities. And most of all have fun and enjoy the friendship and camaraderie you will experience, that is the best part of the day.
After you cgain some familiarity with how the car handles and how you progress, your upgrade priorities will probably change drastically. |

I am not sure if your region offers a "novice school" event during the year. I know at least here in the socal region we try to offer this school once a year or every other depending on demand.
