You're correct, it is illegal for STX.

Thats kinda what im aiming for i just a good time. At the same time id like to build accordingly that way im not wasting time on mods i cant use if i ever want to get serious. Lots of good info on here i really appreciate it!

If you build to STX, you can go to 9" wide wheels and 265mm wide tires. No restriction to offset. I currently run RPF-1 17 x 9 et +35 wheels with 255/40/17 Rivals.

Again, I wouldn't worry about trying to make the car faster as the car will not be the limiting factor initially. It will be the driver that is the limiting factor. So concentrate on becoming a faster driver prior to changing anything else on the car. I have seen on multiple occasions an experienced driver in a Prius on stock Prius tires beat a novice in a Corvette.

Thank you. That bar isn't legal in STX. The wheels are legal as they meet the wheel width requirements for the class. There are no limits to diameter for STX.

I am sorry if I am confusing you with my answers.

As for what you should focus on, I would recommend you focus on improving as a driver and not modify your car anymore until you have gotten some experience behind the wheel.

Generally speaking, I have found that the other competitors are helpful, so don't hesitate to ask questions, and for rides with them.

I'm from WI too. Here are some clubs in WI that you can run with.

Fun laid back group to run with. I've personally have gone to these events. Two of the guys that help run one of these clubs have gone to nationals. One took first and the other took 3rd. I believe in AWD street tire class?

Never ran with them, but heard there is some pretty good competition.

Stock what in the front? Wheels/tires? That would be a horrible plan. Whatever you do don't run a staggered tire setup. If you're going to run the stock tires then just do it on all 4 corners and get a feel for what the car does and then eventually when you do change your tires out, you'll see how much of a difference it makes.

I would recommend not spending any money and just try an event or two, so you can at least experience it. What if you don't even like it?

Great advice here and as some mention above. Just run as is and have fun. Once you get more experience and want to autocross then build for a specific class.
