I don't see anything extra for the AT, it probably be just about the same just no need to bypass the clutch.

Okay so I've gone through and read this thread a couple of times. I'm going to try to summarize some parts, give some links, have numbers, etc.

So first the initial setup from 086A involves quite a bit.

http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104B.html $349.99
This is for the actual push to start equipment functionality.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Autopage-ADSALCA-Immobilizer-Bypass-Doorlock/dp/B001983S0Q"]Amazon.com: Autopage ADSALCA ADS Immobilizer Bypass and Doorlock: Car Electronics[/ame] (current price as I type this 56.99 x2 = $113.98
086A explained that we need 2 of these for our car for both the immobilizer and something else.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Autopage-ADSUSB-Cable-Driver-Update/dp/B0035F0KZC"]Amazon.com: Autopage ADSUSB USB Cable and Driver for Update (Black): Car Electronics[/ame] $43.31
Needed to program the above devices.

The various trim and pieces to complete the setup can be purchased from parts.com or probably your local dealership:
92126CA040 $4.17
92177CA010 $5.37
34348CA000VH $6.19
88872CA000 $32.03

Assuming a person uses all of these and these are all that are needed then the price comes out to:

$555.04 not including tax or shipping.

-------

Recently a new push to start/keyless system was shown:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32827

Looks to be mostly straight forward and includes everything necessary for the install. Although it's still necessary to bypass the column lock somehow and they don't provide a means of doing that.

Total cost: $599 not including tax or shipping.

-------

So after reading everything. I got another idea. I understand the need for the immobilizer, however spending that much on the idatalink seems kinda crazy. I read that some people don't want to have to lose a key over it and I can agree that that could suck. I thought why not just get another key from the dealership? Then I remembered people saying it could/would cost 150+ for a new key at which point you're better off with the first posted method. I've recently purchased a cheap techstream cable from China and it works pretty well. At least it's able to do all the basic customizations that I want to do. It also seems to be able to program keys. I need to confirm it, but assuming I really can register my own keys then I can just buy one off ebay and hack it whatever way I want instead of having to use the idatalink stuff.

Here's the cost breakdown:

http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104B.html $349.99
This is for the actual push to start equipment functionality.

The various trim and pieces to complete the setup can be purchased from parts.com or probably your local dealership:
92126CA040 $4.17
92177CA010 $5.37
34348CA000VH $6.19
88872CA000 $32.03

The above parts would stay the same obviously. Here's the rest:

Key with chip off ebay: ranges from $15-30+ depending on if it's cut or not. Obviously it needs to be purchased with the immobilizer chip. For the sake of solid numbers we'll call it $30

Techstream cable/software: can be found on ebay for typically $30

Total cost: $457.75 without shipping or taxes.

-------

So the first option is the most well known obviously due to the thread and has a person/people that can help others if more people go for this method. However it's probably a bit more involved than the second or third method.

The second option is probably(probably...) the simplest install but would cost the most.

The third option is the cheapest and seemingly the least involved, but it's not quite a proven method just yet. And at least the techstream still has use once you're done with the install. It's only a $100 difference from the first method and for some people they might prefer that since they can get help from others on the forum and whatnot, but for those trying to save every penny then this last one might work.

If I made any mistakes then please let me know, but this is all put together based on how I understand everything!

Got my advanced keys stuff yesterday. Push start is no longer a Toyota one... Fits in the face plate but doesn't quite look right or seat right (smaller). May contact the company to see if I can get another module sent out.

Contacted Advanced keys they had a few left and we are doing a trade. They won't be using the Lexus push starts any more since they cost $55 dollars a piece to buy in bulk. A few more may be left so if you want to do this find out soon.

The dealer called me today and told me the driver could be full heated but passeger only partially heated because of where the air bag or some type of sensor was located. I know others on here i believe had leather seats installed unsure if heated or not but does anyone have any input or ideas I can recommend to the dealship or who they are contracting with to get around this. I am trying to get them to order the part from subaru the heated seat buttons where the spot is empty in our cars but the salesman said he doesnt think he can get one from them and it may not be compatabile???? I thought these cars are prettty much the same and also if Japan and other countries of different levels of interior upgrades how come in the states its seems so hard for us to just plug in play especially when they are the same car?

I would have gotten the Subaru limited but I love the way the FRS looks especially and the front end.

Should have just had an 86 special ordred shipped to the states lol payed for the shipping

any input is appreciated.

sorry for your trouble, but i recently just purchased my frs ( a month ago) and had custom interior - red leather for seats as well as being heated . they both work in full heat mode and warm mode. not really sure why they told you like so, but just letting you know that they do come with that option ( full heating)- at least mine did.

There are other ways to do this, but this is just the way I decided to do it.

I have one more video I am working on now. (Supplement Info and the TRD Start Switch change)

I will also try to put a picture DIY for the trunk release switch. Can I just add it to the DIY section or does a MOD need to add it?

Hey I got switch trd button, the panel, the cover and matt, do I need a connector for the trd button switch? if so where do i get it from? subaru or the advanced keys?

If you don't already have push to start installed then having just the button and trim is useless.

yeah. once you get the kit installed then you should be able to swap the trd push button in and it should work the same. i haven't done that myself yet, but i've seen other forum members that have done it without problems.
