need advice, 245/45/16 +35 offset...

like title said, i need advice

i have bought 16x8 inch rims, +35 offset, and i'm wondering if 245/45/16 tires will fit with suspension/fender. Or should i need spacer?

consider that my car is lowered with Tanabe GF210, wich is not an agressive drop.

Also, because this tiresize don't seem popular right now, i was looking for 245/50/16. More choice of models, but wheel/tire wont be same size... i think if i remember correctly diameter will be 1 inch more for the whole wheel/tire.

I dont really care about my speedo reading, but i do care about handling...
will this difference be too much? I already have a set of summer wheels with 225/40/18 and it's .5inch more diameter, and i couldn't say there was a huge difference... but maybe a whole inch more will be noticeable...

so... need advice....

All this info is out there, but I'll be the sucker and spoon feed it to you.

Yes, it will fit. Your inward clearance will be almost identical to stock. (13mm further out offset, with a wheel that is 25mm wider)

Handling wise is going to rest more so on tire selection than these size differences. Taller sidewalls will diminish steering feel so perceived handling will be worse, but grip wise they will be very close. 245/50s will be 1" taller like you said, which will look "funny" to most as they will have quite a tall sidewall. I suggest you stick to 245/45s which I see tirerack has the RE-11 which is a pretty good tire. (Ran it last season in AutoX to the overall regional championship)

Why is it you went with 16s?

In for pics. Not sure I've seen "regular" stance 16s on this car yet.

I went 16 to get an oldschool look. kind of a trip. these are my current summer wheel

and this is what i will put this summer

The problem with RE-11, is that in canada... it's 280$ + tx each.... and since i already have 3 other sets of rims with new tires, i don't want to spend that much... but maybe i wont have other choice..

i was kind of affraid that with beefy (if I could say beefy) tire like 245 it wouldn't fit, because it already seems pretty near fenders with my 225/40/18 on 18x8 rims that have the same offset...

Right out of the fit directory (which you can access too :p) Stop trying to figure it out yourself and look at what has already been done.

17x9 + 38

Hahah! Just take a look at what tires are used and compare the overall diameters.

1. no spacers needed. wont rub your front perch
2. get 245/45/16

245/50 too tall and will affect your handling.

Sorry to hijack thread but I wanted a question answered, I got 18x8 and I was wondering would it be better for handling and looks if I went with 235 40 or 235 45? Thanks!

He says he wants the old school look (yet with a carbon hood?)

245/40 will be around 1" shorter than stock, and will look goofy.

there is a marginal difference between those two. From what I understand, 234/45 will be far easier to find, in a larger selection of brands and types

typo.. was going to write 245/45

Btw, 245/50 is one inch taller. Thus, the car will look goofy too.

Thanks

40 will be closer to original tire height, less gearing and speedo change

hehe, photo don't show it correctly, but it is not carbon fiber, it is a brushed metal/black hood vinyl.

if it doesn't fit wit the look, it will go away
