I'm hoping there's an STI in our near future, so I don't mind wearing this one out prematurely! Bought it to drive it, and drive it I will. Unfortunately I work 4km from the house, and usually 6 days per week, so as hard as I try, the km's aren't racking up on mine... Yet...

I parked mine for the first month and a half and drove my shitty car, but as of today I am driving mine now that its 3Med and winter tired up, expect 30-40k km per year from normal driving for me now.

Lol... I've had mine a year and half and only have 86xx km on it. First winter it was away with probably only 2000-ish km. I pretty much average about 5000 km per summer with it primarily track milage and travelling to and from said track. Occasionally I'll take it to work. Hell I owned the car a full calender year before I took it in for it's "first" oil change.

Worst part of storing my car for the winter... Doing the math on my monthly car costs.

My insurance remains the same with the FRS stored and the Saturn on the road, I pay $100 a month for the winter beater but save $60 a month buying regular gas instead of Ultra 94 and another $80+ every two months doing $19.99 oil changes.

Anything worth noting as far as maintenance or repairs that caught you by surprise now that you've hit 50K?

Nothing at all. Haven't had to do anything but gas and oil. Anything else I've replaced was out of desire not maintenance needs. The only thing "needed" was better brake pads and fluid, but that's because of the stickier tires and tracking it. I'll likely do the tranny and rear end fluid this spring, but I doubt it needs it yet.

Totally agree. My commute is a 44 km drive from Oakville to Hamilton, 100+ km/h highway, and backroads. I remember that pain called the 401 and loathe it.

O man.

If it makes any of you feel better I am at just under 10 months and have put 33k on it. Good to see other racking up the miles too. Im in the same boat as a lot of people here, I bought the car to drive it. Its a long commute but I go against traffic both ways so its not that bad.

Funnily enough, the worst part of my drive is getting from the 401 to Yonge/Eg or from Yonge/Eg back to the 401. Coming from the east is actually pretty good on the 401. When we first moved I was taking the 407, but it's substantially slower than taking the 401 for my commute.

If you're going further west, or coming from the west the 401 is an absolute nightmare.

When I get off from work around 5ish (WFH FTW LOL!!) and let's say I get on the 401 to go into sauga, from looking across the barrier I see the traffic jam on the 401 Westbound is really bumper to bumper right from McCowan all the way to the 403 ramp! No joke. It's absolutely crazy I bet riding a road bike on the shoulder is faster.

I have to drive mine 12 months a year. if I had parking I would use it for winter and get a summer 911. for fun a good drive is the back roads of Virginia. I put close to 3000 in a week there. so much fun!. love the car!
