Are you the type of person who doesn't at all mind racking up the mileage because of all the joy it gives you, or is this killing you a little inside?

Wow, 33,000km/year is no joke! Do you have a long commute, or do you drive for a living? what gives?

drewbot 01-29-2014 12:21 AM

Cars are meant to be driven!

Cheers!

awesome!

I'm at 15k/km in 5 months, can't wait to hit some big milestones like you!

hmong337 01-29-2014 01:22 AM

i've got a round trip commute of 125kms daily. since owning the car in july of 2013, i've already got 20,000kms on mine :(

this is why i'm really looking into getting another car for DD duties and keeping the frs for only summertime driving.

cars are definitely meant to be driven and warranties ultimately expire but it does pain me a little that i've already racked up 20,000kms in 7 months of driving. boring driving too :(

I thought my 11,500 km in 6 months was bad lol.

wparsons 01-29-2014 08:12 AM

I bought the car to drive it, I've considered picking up a bland commuter, but given the option I would end up taking the FRS every day anyway.

I wish I didn't drive as much, but not enough to park the car and drive something else :D

That said, I am looking to eliminate most of my commute by finding a job closer to home, but that's because driving into and out of Toronto is brutal.

Planned obsolescence of a modern day car is set by manufacturers (and the dam lawyers) to be around 7 years / 160,000km so you are only about 1/3 of the way there. Plenty of life left. :D

I feel your pain, I put 800km a week on mine commuting to and from work. As much as I've missed my FRS this winter, it's been nice to put those miles on my Saturn instead.

Same boat as you. My work commute would put 39K a year on the car, so probably 40 or 41k a year for me. I plan to keep mine, though, so thinking about the maintainance is painful. I just hit 10K,and that's sort of depressing. I guess I'm being a baby, since complaining about driving a car is like complaining about watching a TV too much.

I had this problem. Rolled 32,000kms on my last one after it spent about 16-18 months on the road (I bought it with 13k). Didn't like the number, so I sold it and bought another one that's exactly the same. Now I have just over 8,500kms on it :)
