I've dumped once and got lucky. I wasn't going all that fast. An idiot in a cage tailgated me and I had to take a turn faster than I intended. Couldn't avoid some wet leaves and down I went. I stayed with the bike and slid for a few feet. I got to work and realized that the longjohns I was wearing under my pants had quite literally saved my ass (thank God it was cold). My jeans were worn all the way through and the underwear was halfway through. Yes, the bike was still rideable. Not as pretty as when I left the house, but it still rode fine. That was centuries ago. Okay, decades, but a long time back. When I ride in summer I have a perforated leather jacket with armor inserts, and I ride a cruiser. I rarely ride anymore because there are just too many asshats out there.
@Frs300 If anyone has a tragic accident, make sure it's with a truck so they go under instead of through the windshield.

<3 my CBR. Always wear full gear. 2 months into riding I got into an accident, mostly my fault. Following a little too closely for rainy weather, guy didn't use a blinker made a last minute turn, locked up brakes lowsided...was doing like 15 at the time. My wallet saved my butt cheek. Helmet has some minor road rash, gloves were ruined. Super glad I wore all that gear!

Yah except sometimes the guys aren't even aware that the instructions change, or what is actually allowed. At one point in time they were trying to say that nobody could get a bike over 1000cc. That got shut down later. I am glad I got out and work as a contractor now.

That liter bike rule is in play for PACAF...unless you had one prior to going to PACAF you can't. Unless that was changed but that was 2-3 years ago

Must be A/F only? I actually work at PACAF HQ. I got chastised because I didn't register with the DoD that I have a bike. Decals aren't required anymore so I just show ID to get on base...but they can pull you over whenever to check paperwork.

It's been a year and I'm still recovering.
I second this. I would be a vegetable for the same reason. Way too many accidents without the chance of saying "oh shit" first. You only have one...
