Questions about new wheels

1) If i moved up from the stock 17s to 18s, or at least to 17s with summer tires, how much will my speedo be off? It'll also change the gear ratios I assume?

2) Is there a plug and play method to correct the speedo? Motorcycles have a speedo healer unit you can install to correct the speedo after a sprocket change. Is there a similar way to do this with our cars, and how are most people fixing this issue?

3) What about the TPMS? How is this handled for two sets of wheels? I'd like to have both sets equipped with TPMS sensors, if possible.

1. Generally when people go up to 18's they get a tire with a shorter sidewall, which allows the overall diameter to be the same. Which would mean your speedometer would not be off.

2. I don't know.

3. You'd need to get another set of sensors and have them reprogrammed each time, unfortunately.

Thanks for the help. I was figuring that the sidewalls would make everything even out, but I wasn't sure. Needing to reprogram the sensors each time would be kind of annoying. Ill probably see if i can take the sensors off the stock wheels and put them onto the new wheels, since they would see the most use. The stock wheels i plan to wrap in blizzaks, and I check my PSI often in winter so that should cover the downside of not having TPMS on those wheels.
