If you don't think "Damn, what a sexy ass car" every time you walk past your car, you bought the wrong one. Just got home from hockey. What a sexy ass car. |

I'm not sure the adapter harness colors matched the wires they were adapting to, so I wasn't looking at the actual harness itself (the cables don't pull out of the opening that far, and being all bundled together and tied off down the line to the interior, it's hard to get a good look at all the wires there going into which pins), so I don't know if that's it or not. I can only tell you what the metra harness had. And I forgot which harness had the doubled over wire (linking 2 pins together) for the powered antenna-labeled lead. It's late, but there being church tomorrow and that this will keep bugging me till I do something about it, I'm going to go out and crimp the remote lead to the blue wire on the adapter harness and we'll just have to see what happens. I'll see if I can identify the wires the blue wire connects to on the OEM harness. If it leads to a brown wire, we're golden I suspect. But the mystery harness is, after looking at the linked NASIOC thread in the thread that was just earlier linked, the factory 28-pin harness. Here is the pin-by-pin description of that harness (this was the droid I was looking for!): http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...28&postcount=9 (do note, this is for the Imprezas, so the aux-in isn't handled here in the BRZ, but in the USB/Aux-in plug that is single cable leading from the usb/aux-in assembly) Quote:

Edit: Und zat vurked. Surprisingly, the audio quality went up a notch. The bass doesn't sound near as bad as with the stock HU. I'm starting to think that the stock sound system isn't really all that terrible in the audio department... it's just terrible and clunky in the DSP area, and the interface has much to be desired (but is leaps and bounds above the stock Clarion units Subies normally come with.... ). Mirrorlink audio just SUCKED previously. I'll have to see if it sounds cleaner now (doubt it, as before the USB and BT audio sounded just fine without the amp being turned on, but the mirrorlink audio just sounded.... crackly, like it was clipping the digital audio just a tad before it hit the DAC).This new HU is definitely a VERY good upgrade (Sony XAV-701HD) for the price. But I wouldn't spend $500 on a new HU like this just to keep it wired to the stock audio system. I have a feeling I'm going to really like what better speakers, amp, and an actual subwoofer can do for this car. That's when this HU's DSP capabilities will come into play, I think. I've heard negative things about Sony's car audio products in the past, and I still wouldn't use their amps, subs, and speakers when there's much better available (same with Pioneer, though their Champion series amps can't be beat for the price they go for).
