@solidONE haha yeah, i know why we install tune, to get more power! but I was a bit concerned about the abrupt engine noise at that 4000 rpm, that was all
![]() I'm happy with the result. I can't wait to get a header and get stage 2 file.. |

both mid 2000 VQ's one G35 coupe, and Maxima.
edit: Add my neighbors Cayanne S to the kill list. I guess my 0-60 times are in the mid to low 5's at the moment.

I have no idea what spec's a viglinant CAI has however their is a good writeup here on the stock Intake. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56358 If this vigilant intake changes the diameter of the tube where the MAF sensor sits then its likely to need a specific re-tune of the MAF scaling parameters. I also believe the stock intake has "straighteners" to smooth the air flow through the MAF some aftermarket intakes don't and this can upset the maf scaling can be fixed but requires re-scale. It may come with scaling info. Seems stock intake it pretty good for N/A cars and not much gains to be had by aftermarket intakes. The consensus appears to be add 1. A quality drop in replacement filter 2. Maybe a "perrin" intake tube (only cause I have seen dyno results from a couple of sources that show small 2-3 whp gains) and it removes sound tube. 3. Cut the stock intake snorkel down and expand inlet (there is a how to do guide somewhere) These simple cheap mods would appear to get results very close to any aftermarket intake system on an N/A car Last edited by steve99; 01-25-2014 at 09:37 PM. |

Checkout the Grimmspeed intake thread in the exhaust section...
Right now they are testing all kinds of setups including stock, modded stock and different intakes.

If you can, go back to the stock Intake and modify it. Then sell your old intake to help pay for the OTF. Win, Win

I already have an OFT and running a Stage 1 map. I was just looking to see if I could get a better flowing intake. Specifically one that has the filter located inside the bumper instead of sol close to the engine. But I will not purchase it if it will negatively impact my performance.

Is there any mounting solutions out for the OFT to keep an eye on live data while driving or on track? (i.e. oil temps, water temps, etc?)

The FA20club CAI works very well with OFT v1.54 EL header gas tune. I will data log next week to provide IAT's with this tune. Previous data logging show only a two degree differential

I'm assuming you'll need one for a large phone, like a Note.
