Reminds me of the generic hood prop that most good mechanics have so they can work on cars with blown hood shocks

Not a big fan of them to be honest. Seen a few different tricks over the years, the best was a locking one that locked into the factory latch on the car and the hood so it couldn't fall at a car show. Was completely custom though. Other one was an old cf golf club handle...

Hood strut clamps have been around for ages almost every tool truck has them. They can easily mar the strut if not careful.

Yep, vise-grip works but it's safer to use a prop rod


The seibon piece isn't too bad expense wise for a CF piece. Still a lot to spend on something that simple.
