New Hood Prop From Seibon? Yay or Nay? Your thoughts

Seibon has a new carbon hood prop. Seems pretty cool and simple. I would prefer the dampers but what are your thoughts?

Can I attach this to my camera as a monopod when the hood doesn't need to be propped?

I have the Rexpeed carbon fiber dampers. Any hood that gets rid of those is an automatic no for me.

To me, swapping out the hood prop sounds like the height of desperation in looking for something to change.

Problem i run into is my password jdm carbon fiber engine dress kit gets in the way of the hood dampers. This might be a great alternative for people that can't use hood dampers due to mods.

The reason people would want these are because they might not be able to use dampeners with a carbon fiber hood. For example, if you bought Grimmspeed Hood struts and used them on a stock hood, you'd get tons more clearance because they use a "third" hole already drilled on the stock hood instead of two holes like other hood dampeners. The Seibon hood struts only have two holes for hood dampeners, so they aren't compatible with some struts like the amazing Grimmspeed ones. I hope this makes sense. It's pretty hard to explain. The only reason I know about this is because I have the Grimmspeed Hood struts and ended up getting a carbon fiber hood and couldn't use them together.

See no point when dampers are so much easier. This still gets in the way even if the hood is higher.

With the engine bay carbon fiber you cant use hood dampers because of the layout of the carbon fiber. Also as mentioned above hood dampers don't fit well on Seibon carbon fiber hoods. See the pic below.
