I have the crickets as well. Dealership said it was normal this past Thursday during my warranty repair.

No because I always turned on my music loud. Never knew that jimmy has been living under my hood all the time.

I have the SU 003-05176 fuel pump in my basement as a spare part cause so far the pump that's been on the car since I got it hasn't been chirping since I switched to ethanol free gas (shell v - power )

Would be nice to have a diy on the hpfp

Thanks

Same for me. Bought a BRZ in september, began to chirp like crazy at 2500km, switched to Shell V-Power. no chirp since. I feel like an hostage. What if I drive down to the US on vacation? Since it seems unheard of (almost) in Europe it has to do with the ethanol.

If you attempt to change it yourself, make sure you have the high pressure fuel pipe too unless you want your car to spectacularly burst into flames.

You have a picture of that?

I have the part and it came with a bunch of seals and gaskets but I did not open the box with the pump yet so maybe it's in there

My car was chirping while running E85 today... Wasn't for long, but it still happened.

It's a curved metal pipe that runs between the hpfp and the left side hp fuel rail. It's a crush seal, so once you take it off you have to replace it.

Has anyone else noticed that the chirping occurs / gets louder when the fuel is low (about a quarter tank)? I had no problems with chirping since getting the new insulated pump but I recently let me fuel go low and they came back full force.

Nope i didn't even have to ask. When i came in for the first scheduled service a few months a ago they heard the chirps and said they will order the parts to fix it. That was back in November i think and it took a while for the part to arrive. Even after my first visit i came back for other service work and they kept reminding me "We still notice the chirps, parts have been ordered for you". My dealer has been good to me so far with this stuff.
