Ceramic coatings, everything you need, and more quality than you are giving it credit for. Are these kits breaking or falling off? I'm not hearing about quality issues. mine works perfectly! Let's hear it? Sorry to go off topic

I actually like the Greddy kit, and I think it is appropritely priced for being a big name turbo kit.

Ok here we go. For $3900-$4400(depending on where you buy from) you get:

- 1 Chinese manufactured turbo w/a very low boost actuator
- 1 IC Core
- 1 scavenger pump
- worlds most unequal length exhaust manifold & an adapter pipe(ceramic coated)
- cheap silicone hose for charge pipes
- misc clamps and oil line for the sp and turbo

Now I'm not saying it's not capable of making decent power, however I will say AVO went as cheap as possible on material/assembly/production cost. And yet most people seem to pay 4200. Bov being a $200 option.

I dont know if you actually know/have experience with the materials used but sure each kit made is lucky to be above $1000 USD turbo included.

Now we can argue it's due to R&D, but I think what they're making back for r&d is a little absurd. If you would like to know what actual "street cost" aka what vendor cost is shoot me a pm.

The Greddy kit is actually really nice if you can live with its around 300whp horsepower limitations. There intercooler piping layout is really nice and short and simple. Once you install a few different kits on these cars you can appreciate this.

It is also on sale till the end of the month for a few hundred dollars off.

I have a suspicion there may be as many AVO turbo kits out there on the 86s as any. Certainly several hundred thousand miles have been put on these hundred or so kits in the last year. I am not reading about the Chinese turbos coming apart (only1), have no complaints from my tuner over the 'gross' UEL, have not seen any of the cheap silicone hoses bursting, and am looking for problems and failures daily. I don't need shiny bits under my hood and giant turbos in sight to make my car go fast. The hood only gets opened to add oil during changes. If these AVO kits were as flimsy as you seem to portray there should be numerous threads about their issues. I don't see any. Please lead me to them.
I agree that the kit is probably overpriced, and some of the parts are certainly less exotic than on some other kits. But saying something is made in China does not necessarily equate to cheap in 2014. If we threw away all we have from China we'd be walking everywhere and sending smoke signals.

You're putting way too much of your own wording and feeling into what I said. I've never said it was flimsy, when I say cheap I mean it in this way. Silicone hosing is cheap, as in "hey if we use silicone vs the cheapest source of aluminum piping we can save xxx dollars.

When looking at x quality product in comparison to xxx's quality product because they're priced similar. Again, both quality products but one uses higher grade materials throughout it's kit a flag is thrown of why are they priced so similar?

All in all I'm just saying is the AVO kit is priced at a price that it should not be at. Think low 3k range IF that for their basic stage 1 kit suits it better. But hey they know how to get rich through the wallets of fools.

What is your definition of "better results and costs less"? What metrics are you quantifying with, other than "this kit puts down 300RWHP and costs $1k less"?

This is not a troll question, because it directly provides the answer you are looking for.

Let me tell you the real reason the Trust/Greddy kit is so expensive. Trust/Greddy went broke with 55 million dollars of debt, and Trust/Greddy is now run by a group of Japanese bankers.

Also, the Trust/Greddy turbo kit wasn't designed by Greddy itself, but by a Trust shop/dealer in Japan.

Trust/Greddy owe 90% of the other aftermarket companies in Japan money, such as AVO Turboworld Japan. They are paying us back 10 dollars a year to pay off their debt. Class act, they are.

That is not all you are saying, Omar. Let me quote you:

Any other quotes you'd like to share?
