From the sounds of it, your crash bar gets hacked to a point where it wont do you much good. This is a very important part of your car. If you never have passengers in your car, then hey, go for it, but otherwise I'd thing twice.

There is a very cheap part that replaces the factory bumper bar: http://www.enjukuracing.com/products...Scion-FRS.html

It's not going to crumple in the same way that the car is designed to, but if this bar clears, and works with the Greddy kit, You should consider it. Could save a life.

Avo is good. No modifications needed to fit the intercooler

To my knowledge it is just a notch in the crash bar, not exactly hacked up.

AVO or full blown. Better safe than sorry. I have heard the GReddy kit is good though. I would just SC if it's a DD.

As far as I am aware the Greddy turbo kit like most kits out there require you to drill a hole in your oil pan and weld an oil return bung into the hole....

Aftermarket oil pans are already out there with bungs for oil and even a larger capacity @MAPerformance has them ready to go

Can anyone confirm this? I had heard otherwise, and apparently one person just removed the bar all together because so much cutting was required. If it's just a small notch then that really changes my mind of their kit.

You just cut out part of the outline of the IC. I really dont see it defeating the purpose of the crash bar. You dint really "hack it up" to the point of it being useless. Remember GReddy does research this kind of thing and they designed this kit for DD cars

Check page 21 for modifications to the front bumper beam. The kit does require welding skills for the oil return as well. I wouldn't let either of those scare me away from purchasing the Greddy kit should that be the kit you prefer. Have you looked at all your options @JohnAndFrson ? It looks like price is your number one concern.
