Oh, my .....

One of you is from San Jose and the other is from Portland.

I have lived in both places for several years and owned cars with leather and cloth interiors, in both places.

Leather in the PNW is OK ..... but it cooked my back & butt in California....

Maybe it depends on where ya'll are living....??

That's a false statement. It's a known fact they are more refined quieter and have more technology and amenities available also the come standard with a longer more.extensive warranty and Toyota dosent offer anything to compare to IS or the Gs and the LS

The Avalon is the start of the build of an ES the es has more welding sound deadening and better dampeners.

Toyota makes an Awesome product and they are not "shady" enough to re badge another car. You don't get to be the largest car manufacturer in the world selling bullshit

That's actually really awesome you brought up the Avalon. I had a engineer that works in Georgetown ky that builds the new Avalons come to my store to test drive a new es to compare the fit and finish and ride quality. Partly because the Lexus es will now be built in Georgetown along with the Avalon. He himself said the ES is way more refined, quieter, and a high grade of for and finish. I can provide you his name and you can call the factory and ask.

But why don't you drive both and contrast yourself. I have driven both tonne a product specialist. And just " looking at the me Avalon" won't solve Anyhting. I'm done with this conversation. Everyone has their own opinions but I have been shown the facts. It is what it is.

Wow, you got butt hurt real quick - that wasn't the point.

I used to own a Lexus myself and have even been to their plant in Cambridge where they build the RX350s. I don't disagree that more effort (thus more money) are put into Lexus' but to the theme of the thread, the OP asked why would anyone pay more for the Twins and load it up?

Same reasons why anyone would want to buy a Lexus BUT within the realm of pricing for the base car. The one thing I loved about my old IS was the climate control and the leather seats. To this day, I still compare all new cars to that system and refinement. I've been in the LS450 "L" variant and god that thing is a car to be driven in.

As for your arguement dropping 'facts' - you've dropped a potential name to my post and nothing more. On the other hand if you dropped actual stats on interior decibels, interior rattling issue notes, etc. then I can pour over them and concede as facts.

I want the BRZ full loaded because I do want some creature comforts and the fact that it will be my weekend car but it can be fun without adding too much weight. If everyone in the world thought like the OP did, we'd be driving stripper cars.

In California a Lexus with a manual transmission is not available. On the same note, I pity my neighbor with an electric car...he has one gear and I've got six! What a bore.

Last I checked the BRZ premium was 4lbs more than the FRS. The limited was a bit more than that though, can't remember exact figures.

If you you shop around and do research, a brz limited can be purchased for the same price as a frs.
