Those of you running meaty tire setups have probably run into this... Has anyone had issues with the cables running to the parking brake? I'm running 18x10 et37 out back and both sides have significant wear on the outer edge closest to the wheel. From what I can see there is clearance between the wheel/tire and the metal strap that is there to protect the cable, so I'm not sure what is causing it.
Is there supposed to be a rubber bushing to hold the cable in place, or is it just the cable and the metal piece for protection? Thanks for any help on this. I have searched and haven't found any topics related to this concern. Edit: FYI, the tires that came on these wheels are 235/40, so they're stretched slightly. Planning on running 265/35 when they're toast, but I am concerned about clearance now. Also worth noting it's tucking a little tire on BC coilovers.

You have to remove the ebrake guards and bend them so that they do not rub ... i actually bent mine while under the car using some brute man strength ... I'm sure patience is a bit better idea and removing the and doing it with a bit more precision ...

Hey Guys,
Was wondering if someone could tell me the meatiest square set-up I could go with on stock suspension without any rubbing issues. Just read this entire thread, seems like the questions been asked but never answered lol. Set-up would be for 18 inch wheels (TBD). Would like to go squared, or if staggered maybe go with something like a (f) 235/40/18 & (r)255/35/18 setup. I know some tires run wider than others, but just looking for a bit of guidance. Thanks! |

On my setup, 17x9et45 RPF1s, with about a 1 inch drop all around, they really don't fit. There is contact with the fender lip and the plastic piece in the rear under compression, and in the front the tire is hitting the firewall at the rear of the wheelwell under full lock.
![]() This setup is for AutoXing, and I need to be sure that I won't have contact AT ALL. They might fit if you are willing to do some fender rolling/pulling, but I am not willing. YMMV
