2 years ago I was 243lbs. Bought a mountain bike for the sake of getting exercise. Come to find out mtb is fun as hell.

Riding twice a week 1.5hrs a session, drinking beer, and eating proper portions resulted in losing about 3 lbs a week for the first few months.

Now 185lbs, ride once a week, and maintain weight while still drinking too much beer!

It aint rocket appliances, burn calories and get your metabolism in a good place

I'm a computer guy in his late 30's, fighting weight is now a constant requirement.

This right here is the secret, competition! That and being a computer guy, the stats and tracking make it kind of fun. It's all automated except if I want to log the food I eat. Then I just have to pick it out of a database and click add. Easy for even a lazy guy like me. Since starting all I've done really is increase my walking steps per day, and I dropped 15 pounds in only like two weeks. Then I hit a plateau, so it's time to start choosing food more wisely.

I spent 10 years riding downhill in Oregon. This winter break when we where visiting I got to ride a bunch of shuttle runs in the most beautiful downhill ever. There was no skiing so we did shuttle runs to the top and rode down. It was freakin awesome.

Check out Mountain Bike Oregon, Its a 3 day all inclusive ride, beer, eat weekend in a little town called Oakridge in the Willamette national forest. If you like riding, it is the most amazing thing EVER. The dude who runs it is a family friend.

Lisa and I did a little MTB riding in Bend, OR. Stunning scenery.

I sense a MTB meet up coming on.

This is my standard look upon completion of a successful day on the mountain

The more you work out the faster the metabolism gets and the more you will want to eat hehe that's how I ate 5 huge meals a day in the army because I was working out like 3 times daily. Wonder what my caloric intake was back the. Haha
