My car (and myself) are not fast enough anyway so I'm not to worried about my diffuser even at national events.

So I'd like thoughts on brake pads. Running STX, currently on stock brakes. Will be on 245 ZII's this year on 17x8 RPF1's. I bought a set of HP+'s, but they are just too noisy to use everyday, and they clamp really hard. I was thinking of going to maybe an HPS for daily/autocross, and saving the HP+'s for a track day eventually.
Anyone have thoughts on too much clamping force for autocross since our car is more of a preservation of momentum car like Miatas? I have been autocrossing for several years now, and I am concerned that super good brakes may be counter productive. HPS' might be a good compromise. Would love some thoughts.

Re-read my previous posts in here about pads but skip the HPS, not worth it. I'd run OEM first. There is a lot of discussing in here and in the C Street thread.
DS2500 have great moduability (again, is this a word?)

So I'm still debating on Feal's vs KW V3's. I think for my level of driving I won't be able to extract the full potential out of the KW's. Plus with KW's I'll still need to get camber plates for another $450 where the Feal's already come with camber adjustable top hats.
Does anybody run the KW's without adjustable camber plates and maybe just the crash bolts? So if you break it down: Feal for $1400 or KW + camber plates for $2400 For my level, it doesn't seem to be worth the extra thousand dollars.... |

We know the Feal 441's can be competitive at the national level also they took the 4th and 7th spot in STX at the 2013 Tire Rack Solo Nationals with no special valving just stock from feal with the suggested spring rates and everything.

Take that $1000 and put in some time with EVO school. It's not just actual driving talent to "get the most out of" the KW's, it's the knack for tuning with additional tools. Rebound is a bit easier to "feel" IMO, and to do day of adjustments. Compression needs more control to test out (again, IMO, non-super-winner guy with an underpowered underdriven car)

Anyone out there have any news on the availability of 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 RS3s? I'm making the move from CS/SS to STX and it seems that Hankook is not in a hurry to make more of these tires anytime soon. In fact, TireRack doesn't even have these sizes listed on their website as an available size. They're not listed in the "specs" section either.
My first event is 3/1 and I'm trying to get things squared away for the Dixie Championship Tour. I'd really like to run with RS3s, but it looks like I might be out of luck. If you know of a secret stash, let me know!

Speaking to Luke at TR, he said Hankook is barely sending anything at all. It has the appearance of them drying the channel up for a replacement tire.

Damn I was gonna order a set of RS-3s in 245 to go along with my 255/40 ZIIs. Maybe I'll try rivals?!?!?!?

I have a set of 255/40-17 RS's that I ran on my EVO for a couple of months before I sold it and kept my Volks with them. They have 5-6 32nd's on the outside grooves and 6-8 in the middle. I have been storing them indoors since. Rubber feels good but they are a few years old. I planned to burn them up on my Focus ST but if these can't be sourced and somebody wants them, I am willing to sell. If interested shoot me a PM.

Whiteline anti dive/caster kit legal? I know Front LCA's are because coilovers have camber plates. RacerXfab Rear LCA's are good as long as I get it with urethane bushing and no spherical bearing? I already have almost all other bushings from whiteline except Rear UCA. I didn't pick up anything to do with control arms/toe/trailing arms because my plan was to get full RacerxFab but since I am now building with a purpose I have to rethink it all and get what I am allowed for the class
