I doubt anyone will say anything for local events.

The rear diffuser piece is legal now..since it is a OEM optional piece. Its the other stuff I want to put on, Front lip and sideskirts esp.. :/

We should all write letters. They don't really seem to affect the aero in any drastic manner. Not as much as running some huge front diffuser or something.

14. STREET TOURING® CATEGORY
The Street Touring® category of vehicle modifications is meant to fit
between the current Stock and Street Prepared categories. This category
provides a natural competition outlet for auto enthusiasts using
affordable sports cars and sedans equipped with common suspension
and engine modifications compatible with street use.
Under the provisions of Section 1.1 of these rules, Regions are free to
allow any other version of the Street Touring® concept which meets the local needs. In particular, some leeway in the area of bodywork allowances(e.g., wings/spoilers beyond those allowed in Section 14.2.F) is encouraged at Regional Solo® events.

F. Addition of spoilers, splitters, rear wings, bumper covers, valances, side skirts, and non-functional sccops/vents is allowed provided that either:
1. It is a production part which is standard or optional equipment of a

2. It is listed in the vehicle manufacturer’s US accessory catalog
for that vehicle for normal highway use. This does not allow for
parts sold through a manufacturer’s performance catalog (e.g.,
Ford Racing, HPD, MazdaSpeed, Mopar Performance, Mugen,
NISMO, SPT, TRD, etc).
Parts must be installed as directed by the manufacturer. Exact replicas
(including weight) from alternate sources are also permitted.

Except Blain (like myself) has an FRS, so its not in our accessory catelog. Im looking to get started in autox but have a brz spoiler and want a diffuser too, but am worried about classing. Has there ever been allowances for other cars like this to allow for another makes option for essentially the same car (DSMs for example)?

Unless you're super competitive and taking home trophies, I doubt anyone is going to care.

I believe the FRS and BRZ would be considered different cars. However, no one is really going to care locally, unless like @ayau said, and you are really competitive.

Unless you are at a Tour, Pro, Divisional, or Nationals I wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't bother protesting someone with a BRZ wing in a FRS or a own diffuser, etc. Nor do it think most of the rest of us would. People that don't run these cars probably wouldn't even know that the mod was "illegal".

last year I've been running (stx) with rear diffuser, side skirts and front splitter at 3 different local events and nobody said something about it. all of those are just for looks anyway.

this year I'm planning on going to match tours and nationals I will be removing those but keep on using them at local events.
