That's not true, as good as winter tires' compound is, they aren't miracle workers.
Prudence, slow speeds and minimal steering help as well.

They aren't miracle workers, but if you've only ever driven on all seasons or summers, they sure feel like it. It makes a HUGE difference.

I'm just trying to figure out why the OP is looking in Colorado and Ohio for a new/slightly used car when he lives in a relatively populated area and a minor city.

And a beater may be the way to go. I did it last winter and didn't hate life, just missed the FR-S

Personally, I'd like to know what kind of options he's getting considering Clint sells them for $1,400 UNDER invoice and it still adds up to $30k shipped.

I think I am going to go with the used one from Ohio (sorry, Clint!).

I wasn't racing around, but it was definitely too fast for the conditions, as I learned the hard way. There was cars ahead of and behind me, though, so it's not like I was zipping past anyone.

I did take the chrome fender vents, but I'll probably be using it when I get another BRZ. One of the clips is broken, though. They let me remove/unwire my backup camera and I asked about the fender vents, too. The guy said they were pretty much useless to them, considering the condition of the fender itself. They were a stickler about me putting the headunit and all the panels back on after I removed the camera, though. Are you interested in a non-Chrome BRZ fender vent?

Tax would add $2,200.

I am going to drive to Cleveland early tomorrow morning on a rental (moving pretty quickly). Unless you have time to look at it today. If not, no worries. I really appreciate the offer, though!

99% of flights from Rochester to Cleveland requires a layover at NYC, Philly or Atlanta, so it'll take the same amount of time to get to Cleveland, but costs 5x more.

Title and license can be quite costly too, though. Depends on your state. Here in AZ, registration is a bitch. Cost to register is based on the value of the car, while in places like VA and TX, registration is a flat rate.

For a 2 year registration, I could be paying as much as I would for a set of Michellin PSS's. In TX, it's $74/year (I know a guy whose STI is TX registered and he told me how much it was).
