Another One of These: Totaled or Not? Heartbroken

I was driving on the highway on the way to work, and all of the sudden, my car started to slide into the left shoulder. I compensated and slid into the right lane and back into the left lane. Regained control for a few seconds and it started to slide again and then spun out into the guard rail. Winter Storm Hercules vs summer tires and the storm won.

My car is at the tow yard now and won't get appraised until tomorrow at the earliest. But I figured while I wait, I'll get a poll going to see what you guys think. Totaled or not? What do you think?

wow that sad to see but most important you ok.

BRZNutt 01-02-2014 09:06 PM

Ouch, that sucks! I'm glad I had my winter tires on the way home tonight...hope everything works out for you.

Drove it for the second time today in those conditions and summer tires. Never again. I slid all over the road. Anything over 20 and I would go into a drift. And the fucktards behind me actually kept riding my bumper. I'm a bit ashamed of myself having tried to drive it again in these conditions. I was a danger to myself and everyone else on the road. So never again. Winter tires or no driving.

I'm glad you are okay.

Damn that sucks......glad you are ok

Wattage 01-02-2014 09:39 PM

Why did you not purchase winter tires?

MikeNYC 01-02-2014 09:42 PM

totaled but all that but at least your ok

Fett4Real 01-02-2014 09:47 PM

How fast were you going?

pche 01-02-2014 09:48 PM

Dude, it's a Subaru, it's made for the snow!!

J/k, that sucks man, glad you're ok. I'm the one who voted not totaled, I've seen worse gotten fixed. Doesn't look like the roof is buckle so it might not be. However, it's better off totaled because it'll never be the same.

Hard to say if it's totaled or not, would be right on the cusp. I'll say it's totaled based on the airbag going off.

But yeah, $500-600 for a decent set of tires is a small investment.

Im no expert but if I were to guess, id say totaled

I was going about 40mph straight on the highway, following the tire trail in front of me. I think i must've drove over a patch of snow or something and threw my car off balance.

I kept telling myself next week, one week after another, which is completely my fault. Driving in western NY: it's not a matter of it, it's a matter of when.
