Yes. They (Oregon Cam) only grind cams, no assembly work. But your local machine shop can do it after they cut your seats if you go with bigger valves. Supertech makes valves cheap. Just give them dimensions like "groove to tip", diameter, stem length, tulip style, material type such as inconel if turbo... they have a sheet that can be filled out. Just grinding a cam is cheap and easy. Its all the other stuff that adds up. If I can get my hands on a set of used heads for cheap it would be in process already.

Edit: the other stuff like springs, fluoro viton seals, retainers etc might be sourced from other applications. Got lucky on the heads we did for the FS2.0L motors. Comp had the exact springs needed for only $60/ set. Its a DOHC so I thought it was a great deal. Expensive part was having the machine shop cut and install aftermarket seats at about $20/ seat.

a lot of misinformation here...and I am no expert either but will fill you guys in on some stuff.

You can get hardwelded cams and use a master that they make to regrind to change overlap as well I believe. There are only a few legit companies anymore that do full CNC cams/regrinds and at least one of the major ones which is probably what your "tuner shops" will send them too is NO good. I have verification in person from a race team manager on that as well as a builder who sent cams back and the second set were also garbage and not to his specs. Will they make some power..sure...but not what they should and tuning wont be fun

So all in all wait till fully made ones from japan or somewhere else you can full trust and have data to back it up. You will pay for it for sure...

Yeah would not want to put junk cams in and it breaks or car does not run properly with engine codes being thrown.
