Can you confirm this is the morimoto kit that will work with the Winjet headlights?

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3893

Also, the do we need the heavy duty harness or the can-bus harness? Also, is 5000k a better match to the LED switchbacks, or 6000k? Some of these answers have been addressed in other vendor's sale thread, but would like to hear from Chris@Phastek directly. Thanks!

Brian

I know we talked on the phone today Brian but let me reply here. Not sure why I didn't get a notification of a reply so sorry for the delay.

Heavy duty couldn't hurt. You're putting no stress on the factory wires with one, but it is not required as many people run plug and play systems without a harness. Canbus stuff I'd reserve for vehicles like Audis.

The 6000k would probably be closer to most LED products as they tend to be a little cooler color vs the pure white output of 5000k.

Remember if you use 55w ballasts to pick a color temp one higher than you would with a normal 35w ballast.

Edit: no black lights left in the first shipment, but I he second order was placed last week. =)

Here are some of the lights we received late Monday. Check your information online for tracking numbers or spam box if you don't see them. Some of the pre installed HID ones were being packed up still so they might go out tomorrow.

Thanks for all the orders!

They would probably ship Friday from Houston, TX. Time in transit is probably around 4 days.

HID Color Temp Examples

Disclaimer: Based on your monitor settings, these pictures will vary. The 4300k should be viewed as a little bit warmer (oranger) than white. Light output is just about as high as can be. The 6000k will be cooler (bluer) than white.

Just wanted to make a note that with the DRL fog bezels you would need a relay to run the Winjet DRLs if tapping into the same wires. The DRL fog bezels run on 29v IIRC and the current draw will cause only one set of lights to work. The relay will provide clean 12v power to the Winjet DRLs.

This is a poor picture, but something I found on my phone while installing a set locally. Of course I terminated the ends coming from the harness to ensure they would not make contact with anything inside the casing. The other lines were extended and passed through the HID grommet.

NOTE: You can see the H7 harness and hid wires (pos / neg) in the bottom right corner of this picture.

We're thinking about blowing out some of these headlights at $405 shipped. To keep costs down we are able to provide HID kits with installation instructions (simple process) for an additional $79. If you can change a light bulb, you can install an HID kit.

There is no minimum to jump on board. Just send me a PM expressing your interest. My PM box is pretty full from the holidays, but we'll be back at full staff Monday.

Thanks everyone.
