Diesel engine. Range should be enough to get you out of whatever situation would arise. The armour would be enough to ward of zombies. And there would be enough space to live in it.

The minivan is a horrible idea. The glass would break much too easily. But I think the bike would be a great idea. That way all the noise you make would distract them from me and I'd still have the wife to throw out if I needed another distraction.

I'll just leave this here:
If it's diesel.... I'm so in

I think minivan is a good choice except they don't have diesel engines. I'd get a diesel BMW X5, it's got a sunroof, pretty high off the ground, a vat of leftover veggie oil can power it for thousands of miles.
yeah I think the M1's do a 6/10th MPG... 6 fucking 10th's of a mile, which is why they need a 500gallon fuel tank

Could you power an diesel X5 off of veggie oil?

Should be able to, not familiar with diesel fuel formulation but you'd obviously want to filter out the burnt food bits and maybe add some additive to keep the car happy and maybe to prevent really bad oil from sludging up the tank.

I'd load up the off-road rig with Huskies, shotguns, high powered flashlights and a chainsaw in case I run out of 00 buckshot and head to Alaska where the bastids will freeze into sled dog chow. Just in case, maybe some Patron to make the last moments pleasurable.

Being in a generation that zombie are popular, you need to learn more about zombies. Just like the CDC who are giving information on how to survive zombie apocalypse. This can be in their public health information.
