Not to knock the JR kit, but when I compare it to the other rotrex kit for the fa20 it looks very poorly executed/kinda thrown together. If I do go s/c again, which I highly doubt I will it's between these the two rotrex kits. And the kraftwerks kit just look like they spent more time developing/executing it.

Between two kits each has something I like or dislike "visually" but both produce same round about #s it seems. Where the KW has the seperate belt which could be looked at a back up thing I don't like fact how it's routed dual cogged and louder operation, that and a single belt operation should have zero issues if it was designed and installed properly. The piping however "looks wise" looks cleaner on KW... So ya it's this and that but choices are good.

But 100% agree with you. I'm actually a fan of separate belt operation and have no problems with added noise so it doesn't bother me.

Customer service with Jackson Racing is top notch. I called them up before ordering my kit and was immediately impressed not only by their professionalism, but the fact that I was dealing directly with the people who have the answers and not someone reading from a sales brochure. After speaking with Oscar Jr. for better than 30 minutes you know that you are talking to a fellow enthusiast who you can relate to. That kind of personal interaction with a company is very important to me personally. Definitely made up my mind as to which company to support... the one that I feel will support me as a customer. I'm not saying any of the other companies have poor customer service, This is strictly my experience with the team at Jackson Racing.
The kit has been absolutely great and I have logged over 5,000 miles thus far.

Any other reasons? I mean, from what i've seen they seem to make the same power, are within a few hundred dollars of each other, and both come from quality companies.
I like that Vortech had Perrin in on the development, as I'm a big Perrin fan. As far as noise goes - sounds like JR is near silent, but I kind of want some S/C Noise... Anything else I should be considering?

The kit is quiet other than when you first crank it up (fast idle) and above around 4,500 rpm. Its never super loud, but loud enough that you know its there. I've been told it sounds like a jet turbine as I go by at speed. I don't know myself because I cant get out of the drivers seat! ![]() I personally like loud superchargers, but this one suits me just fine. I do also like that my car will still pass emissions as well. I wouldn't have supercharged my car if I couldn't get it to pass. That would have been a headache.

That picture is more about the camera work than the finish of the parts. You can make junkyard cars look good with those techniques. |
