I don't understand how come "hatchback" is a plus for you when looking at the MS3, but a minus when you look at the 2009 STI...

Does the new WRX have active torque vectoring? From what I understand, that's what allows the Evo X to have the slight bit of power oversteer.

Yes it does. Active torque vectoring, much stiffer chasis, much stiffer springs, better brakes, tighter steering, it sounds like better weight distribution too. Lateral acceleration is matching that of an Evo now, and it sounds like the 2015 WRX gives you the handling of an Evo for $10K less or so (this is what the pro reviews are saying). And it is so cheap and easy to add power to the WRX platform. A downpipe and Stage 2 tune via a Cobb Accessport on the current car is about $1K and this gives you more hp and tq than an Evo X at the wheels. I would assume the cost to get similar numbers on the 2015 WRX would be similar so you should be able to match or exceed EVO numbers for way cheaper.

I am enjoying the car. I am adding a rear sway bar soon which helps with body roll and understeer, along with a proper alignment. Subaru sets up the current generation WRX to have more understeer than I would like but it is pretty easy and cheap to fix. $96 rear sway bar and an alignment.

This thread got stupid at "not JDM" being an argument against a car.

Had you mentionned "muscle car" as a negative from the start, that would've made more sense to me and would've been more consistant. I mean, the Focus and Fiestas aren't JDM and aren't muscle car. But wtv. I'm mostly knit-picking your plus minus lists because I find them hard to compare to each other. Nice list nonetheless |

None of the cars listed in the first post is a JDM in the first place. Produced by a Japanese auto manufacturer?.... yes, some. But JDM?.... no, none. |

Eh, screw JDM or any domestic market, I was just always told that japanese and european are more reliable than american. Maybe I'm wrong and that probably changed, my bad

The only cars which excite me are the European and Japanese cars. Those are actually interesting. To me, "American car maker car" == boring as hell (there are some exceptions).

You need to learn to research and think for yourself. A big boy like you who is making all this hard-earned cash don't need random kids on the internet to tell you which car to buy.
