The last thing I want to do is put on too much tread for the engine and negatively impact performance. As for lowering kits, I'm planning on the ST coilovers as they're a good price for what seems to be a good set. There are 17x9" +45 enkei's available, btw.
I know the feeling. I went thru all this just a few weeks ago. Sometime it's best to just pull the trigger and not look back.

I think with the rpf1, and you will only be gaining performance. You really lose it when you go to a 28lb 18x9 wheel. Excessive tread isn't going to give you any noticeable gains, will cost more, could affect performance, and is completely unnecessary on stock power. the 17x9 +45 will definitely be a better fit, 100% will not rub. but I was thinking.. you'll also definitely want to get 245 if you are going with the 9" wheels.. 235 at a minimum. stretched tire look is U-G-L-Y

Wow.

Since I was really more paying attention to the raceseng shift knob I just installed, I wasn't thinking at all about my tires. But I noticed my self feeling much more comfortable thru turns at a higher speed. Didn't know what it was till I realized I haven't really driven it since the new tires.

Also, it was 28 degrees out.. Definitely picking up some readings on the butt radar.. felt like it had about 10% more output tonight. Loving the cold weather for sure.

It took me a year to pull the trigger on wheels. I finally went with 17x9 with 245-40-17s Dunlop Direzza's dz101 mounted on them. She is still tail happy and grippy as the day I bought her + the look is amazing. I will post pictures soon enough.

I'm gonna look into getting some lightweight 16in wheels. I like the idea of lightweight on this car. But I see how many people rather prefer the look of bigger wheels.

Yea dude, when it's cold and I accelerate on Mopac or whatever in 2nd, I'm thinking "whoa this is kind of intense." Even though I've had fast cars like an sti/s4/240.

Imagine driving in death valley below sea level at really cold temps. That would be like +40 hp at least.

I really love smaller wheels and very much the look of vintage on this platform. I would of loved finding these in 16, like those TRD Tosco's .

And same with these O.Z.s that I'm kinda thinking about. Wish they came in 16s too.

My 18X9.5 RPF1's with Continental DW's are lighter than most 17X9 wheel setups. (minus the 1 lbs difference RPF1 17X9) Get the best of both worlds, looks and light weight!

To me, that size is over kill unless you are going FI. But, different strokes for different folks. I have to pass the GF test everyday so I can't go too nuts with the car.

That's a losing battle. I mentioned the 4th brake light kit and got scolded yesterday.

I've driven there many times. It's a challenging and relatively safe track [Nothing to hit when (not if) you off while learning your own and the car's limits].

There are a lot of special events in which you can participate along with spending considerable track time improving your own skills and testing suspension changes and power improvements.
Go by some day and ask for Beau. He can explain the entire concept and perhaps take you out on the track itself.

If you really enjoy driving on a track and plan to use the facilities on a regular basis; this is a pretty good deal.
