I didn't have Torque Pro at the time, so could not test. As @Trap63 pointed out, it had the side-effect of not allowing the usual selection of BT/Wi-Fi/USB. Removing the file will make the firmware/Torque behaviour the same as v3 - that never had the file in the first place. |

It was included v3 as well. At the end of the day, it is just another installed app. Nothing says that you have to use it, so I'm a little bit puzzled about why you want to uninstall it. Or are you saying that you played with it a bit and can't get it to shutdown now/are stuck with its UI? |

SW Controls
@GreenPants Not sure if your Subarus/Scions/Toyotas have steering wheel controls and if they function with this unit, but if they do I have got steering wheel controls working in all android apps not just the included ones with the unit.

I will absorb your fix into the next release - it shouldn't hurt in any case. Thanks. |

Hiya GreenPants, and all others reading the thread,
I tried the workaround for v4 for Torque, i.e. deleting carit_version2 - it seems now for some reason I can select BT, but when torque tries to connect to the adapter, once it connects to the BT OBD adapter, the BT dongle turns off, then turns on again. Not sure why Torque is doing it now, but it didnt seem to happen with the old firmware. I tried flashing back to the v3 firmware and still had the same issue, anyone have any ideas on why this might be? I checked to see if carit_version2 had been restored but it was still missing - If someone could send me the file again that might fix the issue potentially? Please pm if you still have this file - Thanks in advance! Rob |

I have always found the BT to be a bit unstable - I'm not sure if it is because of interference, lack of USB power, quality of the BT dongle, being inside a metal car etc... Make sure that the BT USB dongle has enough power. Don't use it off a hub (if you use a hub, make sure that it is a powered one). Make sure that you installed Quick Bluetooth, and used that to set up the BT pairing with the OBD2 dongle. Make sure you pair the device before attempting to use torque. |

I tried using a different OBD2 adapter following the steps you mentioned and it worked, but my original OBD2 adapter wouldnt work, even though the original OBD2 adapter was able to connect to torque with my phone - I suspect its probably something to do with the USB BT adapter I'm using. For the moment Im happy enough using the OBD2 adapter that does work! Which USB BT Adapter are you using at the moment and which OBD2 adapter are you using if you dont mind me asking? Cheers |

I also acquired a cheap USB Serial OBD2 cable before Xmas, but still haven't plugged it in to try. |
