You got balls, I parked mine. Sounds horrible, can't even tell if its the blower, pulleys or a combo at this point and its too cold to be sitting there troubleshooting.

I've been on a few spirited, full throttle drives in 100 degree weather. Heat has never been an issue. I don't have an oil cooler and I monitor oil temps and they peak at about 119 Celsius on these hot days and quickly lowers back down to about 109 Celsius when you begin to drive normal again. The cooling system on this car is great and I probably don't see a need for an oil cooler if you are not going to track your car and do a few pulls here and there.

While I don't have my snorkel installed, I'm pretty sure the vortech airbox hooks up to the factory one... it should be compatible but might require minor modifying

I'm in the process of installing my Vortech Supercharger, by myself, which is kind of a pain. I attempted to install the intercooler yesterday and I’m not happy with the outcome. I was hoping to get some feedback or pointers from those with experience. So, any advice on getting this mounted up correctly?
The issue I am having is that I cannot move the intercooler supports as far back as they are shown in the instructions, as it conflicts with the lower A/C condensor connection/bolt on the driver side and the horn mount on the passenger side (I already bent the tab out of the way on the passenger side, whether that was really required or not). The instructions also say that the intercooler should be mounted parallel to the A/C condenser, where I have it now is pretty damn parallel, if I mounted it where the instructions show it then it would not be parallel. As a result, I decided to mount the intercooler farther forward... Is there any issue with having it this way? I really don’t feel like drilling again and making my bumper beam swiss cheese (it would be lighter though). Thanks in advance! ![]() Working by yourself sucks: ![]() This is where I ended up drilling my holes (driver's side, front of car is to the left):: ![]() Picture from Vortech's instruction manual for reference (driver's side, front of car is to the left): |

I'm on my phone but from the looks of it you mounted the intercooler too far back at the too. It should be parallel and that picture looks like it is a good 5-10 degrees off. Also you could take a file and slot the top of the bracket a bit that may help get some angle. If I recall I also relocated my horn to the area behind the passenger side turn signal. But it's been a long while since I have looked at it!

Ignore where vortech may or may not have drilled holes and just go by what fits. The docs I used when I installed mine had a lot of issues but I think they revised it since then. Now that I am at a computer it looks like you have far too much lean on that intercooler and its crushing against the ac condensor. I would re-drill as needed and push it further away. Just make it fit thats all that really matters. Don't wory about trying to do 100% to the doc. Just get it to fit within reason. Not every kit for a car is going to fit perfect. Anything that requires drilling has a bit of "room" for error. If it was extremely important for the exact angle to be made I am sure vortech would have supplied a template for drilling or at least measurements. So really dont sweat it just line the intercooler up to where it fits, and then drill. I personally had re-slotted my mounts and modified them (or maybe I made new ones I don't even remember). But I also mounted mine a little different. I put "studs" in my crash beam to mount my intercooler to.

What I did:
-Slide intercooler onto lower tab (the one that runs beneath the radiator towards the front of the car) -Loosely attach mounting brackets to intercooler -Push radiator up to the bumper beam as tight as possible -Mark and drill holes in bumper beam All was a major pain in the ass for one person, but it is possible. The only interference was the temp sensor, but that was easily pushed out of the way. Mine had a very slight angle to it when mounted.
