Lowest Price in my area is $35,000 used tranz... Probably less if a private sale.

Or they talked to the same sales person at Toronto. One or the other!

Yes, the definition of "out the door" is with TT&L. It's the "out the door" price(assuming cash of course, not counting interest).

If true, that puts it around 23-23.5k

Does MSRP include freight?

I only ask because I was at the scion booth at the autoshow today and the guy there told me the price was 28k +2k freight + Eco Fee + Taxes coming in at a total of 34k out the door.

Wasn't sure if he was on crack or if this was accurate,

If its 34k out the door, I'm pretty surprised.

See my full post regarding his info here:

34k? HAHAHAHAHA... As I've already said... if that is true.. I'm throwing a molotov c0cktail @ my scion dealer. My hood and trunk will have to be made of solid gold for me to buy an FR-S at that price.

Oh and what.. that would mean the BRZ would be around 40k? lol

Many will likely say the FR-S/BRZ needs more power and while more wouldn’t hurt, those folks (the same ones who have probably never driven on a track) are missing the point.

OK I took a quick look at the tC price in Canada to draw a parallel - from the site:

$25,345.90 - tC out the door
$20,940.00 - MSRP

That is a markup of 21.04%. Assuming the MSRP to total ratio is about the same for the FR-S, we get $33286 OTD from an MSRP of $27500 - ouch!! A little higher than I was anticipating....

It might be $200-300 less if the freight/PDI is identical for both vehicles.

Practically 34k is more then I was anticipating also(by 3k or so).

I now have to re-evaluate if its worth my money at that price.

Their edging close to the price of the RX8 when it was new, and that car had more features to offer(in my opinion).

If you try to think beyond the hype, the Boxer is also going to be a royal pain to work on. The guy at the scion booth was telling me how everything is difficult to work on with the car and scion is hiring subaru mechanics.

I love the car, but 34k, yeeesh

Agree, that has to be incorrect. There is no way in hell this car is a $30k vehicle compared to its competition. It would be an idiotic move of biblical proportions.
