I would have thought no diff . . . . mechanical pump would be identical on all cars.

Have patience, man - just because nobody responded in 6 hrs since your first post doesn't mean that no one will. It's one of the biggest global holidays after all. Happy new year.

I have an AT and yes, it had chirping from about 2,500 miles. I got the latest pump revision installed a few weeks ago and they haven't returned yet.

The High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) on the engine has nothing to do with the transmission.

Why would you even ask this silly question. Might have as well asked, does this affect cars with white paint?

To all the people saying my car build was in September, August, July, or whatever and now has the chirp, how can this be???

I say, unless you car has a build date around or after the revised TSB date (10/28/13), your HPFP will chirp. Please quit acting surprised your affected too.

Even the new TSB pump will likely chirp, but its insulation will greatly muffle it. And then there's talk of a new design in the works.
Have patience like everyone else who has this car, and if you like...request a new pump or file a complaint with your manufacturer requesting they resolve this.

that's funny, I have been using shell, and have had the chirp issue. Replaced the fuel system two times, it now does it louder than before. I should try a new gas station maybe

Took my car in on November 6th - was informed the parts would be on back-order due to a high demand (about the time the new TSB was released) and just finally had mine replaced today. So far a noticeable difference in overall sound and no chirps yet. Will continue driving and inspecting over the coming days to ensure it is totally chirp-less.

I heard the crickets this morning.
It's hardly noticeable now, but it probably is because it's only the first day of chirping.
The original HPFP was replaced by the green dot HPFP on 5/22/2013.
Above quoted message was posted on 7/5/2013.
No chirp for the next 5 1/2 month.
Then around the Christmas time, it started to chirp very lightly.
It's been chirping very lightly for about 10 days now.

Posting this just for the record.

When I took my car to get it's first service, I brought up the chirping. The rep told me that Toyota was no longer replacing the fuel pump because the new pumps still have the same issue and Toyota was still investigating.

11XXX miles, no chirps still.

Proof
[ame]http://youtu.be/_fS9mPoS-XI[/ame]

Only used non ethanol 91 octane gas other than the one trip to Michigan where I had to fill up with 10% Ethanol gas.

Others swear by the gas not being the issue. Did I somehow get the Unicorn of the lot then that is sprinkled with Pixie dust? Doubt it.

When I run E85 I get no chips. I am going to try to find some non ethanol gas to see if that does the trick.

Gas hasn't changed much in the last 10 years, the issue isn't the fuel (which is a known design parameter) it's the design.

Think of a blender, one of those high powered ones that 'cuts through anything'.

The blender turns bananas into mush without hesitation, but it struggles with regular size ice cubes. Is the problem with the ice or the blender? Are you going to substitute cold bananas for ice forever? You could return the blender, modify the blender or realize that while it struggles it still blends the ice without any signs of damage.

18k miles, all E10 and zero chirps for the last 8k miles. Original pump, 12/12 build date.

Then we have been blessed with remarkable pumps that do not cricket. I guess we will see how long I do not have crickets until I have to fill up with gas I usually do not. 93 is hard to come by in Nebraska.
