Yeah, it's been slow since the full specs were out. You were away when I went on a quest to find 170 lb-ft of torque that I believed the engine should have (based on 12.5:1 CR, D4-S combustion efficiency, compared with old BEAMS, etc...). Failed miserably. Must say I am a bit underwhelmed with the motor. Was kind of expecting something a bit more epic like the difference between the 1ZZ and 2ZZ, but understand (grudgingly) why they did what they did.

I'm not completely sure either but I guess they're worried about the possibility of using their power irresponsibility.

Found it's possible to change oil on a Corolla without lifting the car (jacks, lift) or pit and not make a mess. However you are not able to get enough torque on the transmission drain-plug to crack it due to lack of space for the forearm.

I feel as though it's meant to motivate. The way I see it... is we can hold our own but sometimes we hold ourselves back from greatness. That's what I'm taking away from it.

-- To me this has a nice prose and emotional content, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. We are not powerful beyond measure, we are powerful AND inadequate to use it in a rational way. Ex: We can easily destroy the planet in a day (nukes) but our rationality is inadequate to control our power. We are just animals.
